does anybody know way the classification is 73-87 sub i have an 88 and its the same square body as the 87 ? why not 73-88 sub

From 88-91 Subs, K5's & 4 door trucks (crew cabs and/or cab&chassis) kept the square body style.

Up to 86 all square body trucks used the C / K designations. From 87 on the square bodies used R (2wd) / V (4wd) and the new body style took over the C / K from 88 on.

Jep !!! What he said. So it's actually 73-87 (91) . Also, 87 and up are TBI aspirated motors. 86 and down are Carbed.
