I have a 2wd 700r4 that came from an 84 C10 and a 2WD TH350 that came from an earlier C10. Both will have torque converters, both came from a driving vehicles, unknown mileage on both.

The 700r4 was rebuilt by AC Delco at one time.

Located in Catawba, NC

$450 for the 700r4

$350 for the TH350

I have installed several lockup controllers from Bowler Performance transmissions. Thats all you would need electronic wise. Your driveshaft would need to be shortened as the 700r4 is about 2.5 inches longer. Also crossmember would have to be relocated.

700r4 bolts into the same place as a TH 350 and you don't have to shorten the driveshaft. The 700r4 and TH350 or the same length.

I would come grab that 700R4 this weekend from you if you weren't on the other side of the county....

Yea, Washington is a 3-4 day drive.

I've done the drive across the county a few times when I was younger. It's no longer a drive I'd want to rush through.

I've never drove across country to buy anything. I drove 6 hours one way to pickup the 5.3 I bought.

You wouldn't need anything. It'll bolt right in. Everything is the same with the what most refer to the long shaft Th350. There is only like 1/2 difference between the 2 in length so in most cases, there's enough wiggle room in the driveshaft length even. The yoke is both 27 spline, they both hook the Detent/TV cable to the same brackets, cooling lines and shift linkage all in the same place too. Crossmember may need to need to be moved but that's fine too. Uses the same trans mount. A later model frame is probably punched for both locations on the crossmember, the older models you'd probably have to drill 4 holes for the crossmember. That's it. Easy Peazy !!!

You're getting a bit confused thinking 4x4 Jason, cuz you'd be correct, but in the 2wd, there's only about 1/2 in difference in the Squarebody Th350 and 700r4. Driveshafts will usually interchange for a direct swap and set up the lock up converter if you're not swapping from a Th350C.

I've done deals like where they were like a 4 hour drive and I talked the seller into meeting me half way so it was 4 hours round trip instead of 8. Kinda puts the seller on the spot too when he says, but what if you decide you don't want it then I wasted my time? If you're not misleading me, and it's what you say it is and you're hiding nothing, then I'm taking it so is there anything negative about it you should let me know? Well, it has this or that, Well OK, I can live with that so I won't change my mind. I won't even try to talk you down, if you'll meet me, I'll give you what you're asking for it.

My favorite. Pretty sure you BORROWED that from me. :happy175: I love that chart cuz it gives the case dimensions, the tailshaft dimensions, the mount dimension location and all.

I haven't done it in a while, but after starting a family, buying stuff a thousand miles away was a good excuse to make a family vacation out if it. Every singe time, it was a lot of fun.
