Hi Guys, i have a 1976 C20 rwd truck that I'm swapping an LS into and currently I'm keep flip flopping between a 4L80 or a 6L80. Im leaning towards the 6L80 due to the gear ratios and the fact im wanting to travel in the truck. However, i keep finding conflicting information that you need to cut the floor to fit the 6L80. My floor is a low hump being an Auto. I dont want to cut the floor.

Can anyone confirm if you can for a fact fit the 6L80 without cutting the floor?

Thanks for your time.

6L80 is big but it seems to me there is more bulk on the bottom (down low), it’s not much bigger than 700R4 up top. Seems like the 6L80’s are more plentiful since they were in so many Yukon Denali’s, Ecalades, Camaro’s etc. where the 4L80’s were primarily in heavy pick ups

I haven’t swapped one in a square but they are wedging 6L80’s in classic XJ6 Jaguars without modifying the body

Thanks for the info. I appreciate that. I find it odd there is limited info out there.
