Pointy nose? I've never known the 70's to have a 'pointy nose'. Definitely not any pointier than a 69 :)

Well the 70s still have the dual headlamp setup, but the nose of the car kind of protrudes out wereas the 69s run flat across. This is true in both the chevelle and the el camino.. They are not pointy by any means... Idk why I always say that

Here is the 70

You cant even touch that car for under 15-20k... hahaha especially if its an SS. I believe the 1970 SS Chevelle was one of the quickest cars of its time. I think they had the 454

The SS's had a few different motors in them depending on how you ordered it.....

Yes they ARE!! A nice SS (#'s matching) is $25k+. Just a solid SS (#'s matching) is in the teens price range. I'd like to get a 70 Malibu, though, and build that up. Not to make an SS clone or anything but to just do what I wanna do with it. You can get the Malibu's for pretty reasonable prices and just build on those. The look the same, just don't have the $$$ value and SS badging and SS "goodies". I'd want to update it to new technology anyway...

I could have got a 69 with factory cowl induction hood, and a 400 smallblock for $800 but I couldnt come up with the scratch quick enough. It didnt have any hood springs so the guy used a pipe to hold the hood up. He was working on it and the pipe slipped and the hood nailed him, so he took the pipe to every panel on it. Bout made me sick, but it was fixable. Very solid for this area.
