If I remember right the 472 has the BOP bolt pattern so you would need to swap over to a BOP case, no biggie..

Ive been thinking of the same kinda swap. But Ive already swapped a 5.3 into my k10.
Ive got the '70 500 caddy engine and th400 trans, id just need another truck to swap it into. The th400s are easy enough to pull apart to swap in the short 4wd output shaft.
