hey all, just about to fire up a ground up build here on a '74 c10 shorty 2wd. the cab has a high hump with the 4 speed cutout and it has the pedals but nothing more. What do I need to able to drop in a saginaw 4 speed or a super t-10? It currently has a 383/th350 setup. I have a '77 gmc high sierra with a 350/3spd on the floor with all the linkage and pedals.

You can use the pedal assembly in the truck or the donor one. Use the clutch linkage, bell housing flywheel and clutch from the donor truck but be sure to install a pilot bushing in the crank. If you want a 4 speed muncie or t-10 you will need a different shifter and linkage. Not sure on the drive shaft or cross member. You will also need to adress the speedo gears in the trans. There must be somthing I missed but this is a start.

I just did a swap from a th350 to a supper T10 in my 73 C10
it not that big of a deal
use the pedal assembly from the donor
if the cabs are off
it makes it easier there is 6 bolts that hold the assembly in
and they are behind the brake booster I just pulled
the booster and master cylinder
use the z bar and linkage , bell housing flywheel
( if good may need a new on resurfaced ) from the donor truck
Get a new clutch pressure plate and throwout bearing and pilot bearing
its not that expensive and it just good insurance
in the supper T 10 the speedo gears is on the on the opposite side of
the tranny from the TH350 I just used a little longer cable
On my cross member I just moved it forword to the next set of holes
I used the same drive line but had to change the slip yoke
to a bigger one from a th400
You will need a 4 speed shifter and linkage
I had to modify the floor pan ( the hump ) where the shifter comes through
I have Pics if you need them
use a truck clutch fork it's a little longer and lines up better with the push
rod from the Z bar but a car one will work
If I am missing anything just ask

Back to this forum after a few years. Can you tell me if you put the ball stud for the zbar on the engine block or the bellhousing? Also can you tell me what headers you're running? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
