Anyone have experience/thoughts on tapping into the backup light wire in the factory rear harness? Boat trailer has a electric valve for the brakes that needs the backup wire signal and the trailer is currently only wired for a flat 4. Don’t need backup lights on the trailer. Thanks.

You’re not making sense. You will need to put a larger plug on the boat trailer. Your truck already has a backup light pin in the factory 7 pin connector.

Yep, just utilize the factory 7-pin connector. Put a new plug on the trailer so it is 7-pin as well and you can wire the brake valve in that you need. It should be the center pin in the connector.

So this brake valve... what does it do? Does it disable the surge brakes for backing up?
