As some of you might have seen I was having issues with the cooling system on my
86 C10. I was running a 180 thermostat but just curious if I should run something
in the 195 of higher range. Or if 180 is the norm for big blocks to use? truck is only used to
to drive around and used to pull a car hauler, Im fixing to buy a new one so just wondering! Thanks.

Someone more knowledgeable will probably chime in. But I usually drill a small hole in my thermostats to help with purging and I've had no problems

Either one will work 195 is primarily used on later engines. If in Texas warm up/cold climate isn't as important, go with a 180. More of a concern would be enough radiator/cooling.
