Well I finally found a good donor for my TBI 5.7 from my 1994 truck. I'm thinking about using the Edlebrock Preformoer intake and carb but I would love to keep the throttle body set up. I have 2 problems though. 1st is I'm having trouble finding a good STANDALONE controller and harness for the TBI. The second problem im having is that although the stock engine in the 1994 is a GREAT running and torque-y little motor, it has a rough running issue at low rpms that it has had for years and I cant seem to pinpoint the problem. I want to fix it before I put it in the 1981 so i know its gonna run great. It runs great at idle, acceleration, and cruising, but low RPM coasting and parking lot speeds it runs rough and almost sounds like its loping. Smooths out as soon as you give it throttle. I know a Carb would eliminate the issue but the thought of passing up the convenience and performance of the TBI is hard to pass up. Any suggestions?

i have 1997 winnebago motorhome 53k miles just driven from west coast to east coast, no problems, 75 gallons of fuel, 454 4l80e transmission, oil cooler , monster transmission cooler, new 19.5 wheels and tires , i'm going to scrap it, use the engine and tranny in a 1984 chevy c20 tool bed truck that has a propane conversion on , also have a 3/4 tom 4x4 complete set up , i may get some first hand knowledge on tbi swap wiring and other electrical
, c20 is carbed and propane, more as it hits the fan ?
WHILE THE MOTORHOME SAYS ITS A 1997 THE RUNNING GEAR NUMBERS SHOW THEY ARE 1996? IT IS A TBI , I DO HOPE THE THE 4L80/OR 85E HAS PARK PIN!

a 97 should be the multiport vortec 454 and much better option than the tbi. I have one I was planning on putting in my 1/2 ton. With your Winnebago you may have a parking brake on the drive shaft to work with and not a pin in the park of the trans like passenger vehicles have.
