1989 s10 dies when comes to a stop

Ok I got a 1980 s10 has the 4.3 in it when I drive it. Most of the time it stalls out and dies fast but has always cracked back up. What could be wrong with it. This didn't start to happen untill I found a shorted out wire after I fixed it now it does this and it does have a lot of miles 280xxx but has been kept up. Oil change ever 3k miles. Tune up.. If you think you might know what's going on post it thanks

Where did the wire go? I've heard of lockup torque converters doing that. Is it carb or Tbi?

Tbi and it went to emc1 fuse the reason I say that for cause evertime it shorted it would blow now I got that fix not ever time but most the time it goes dead or almost goes out
