Bought this truck that has been sitting for a while. Truck rides and drives well, for 20 miles or so and then stalls under load. Replaced Engince ontral module, distibutor cap and coil. Drove it again today, drive fine at less than 35 mph, but stalls out when tring to go any faster. Stopp and topped off tank (not empty) truck drives fine again for a bit. Checked feil pump visually, seems to be recently installed. Fuel filteer (inline, has Edlebrock 4106 4bbl) has a bypass tube (i will get a filter in it.) I know the switch for the dual tanks does not work so It is pulling from passenger tank.

Any ideas where to go from here?

do you have a clear see thru fuel filter? if so when it acts up pull over and see how much fuel is in it. maybe even pull a spark plug real quick and see what it looks like.

are the intake bolts tight and gaskets not leaking?

is there a fuel line near a header or manifold that getting hot?

thats all I got off the top of my head for now

I am installing a clear filter and will let you know what I find. I do not see a fuel line close to the manifolds. Thanks!

I put a clear filter in the line, replaced the fuel pump and it is still not getting enough fuel. The filter is mostly empty, when running. I did replace the dual tank switch and not is appears to run on either tank, just not well

Try driving it with the fuel cap off. Just a guess that since it running normally for a few and then starving for fuel the cap may not be venting properly.
