1984 c10 Door Alignment

[84 Silverado]

Gents,​

1984 c10. This door is almost impossible to close without slamming the triple-heck out of it. I’ve played with the striker, replaced the striker and no luck. With the door closed with olny one click of the latch, there is a HUGE GAP (enough to fit my fat finger in). Is there any way to adjust this door without pulling the fender?
As always, I appreciate your help. I’ve looked on YouTube for help, but either this issue is not addressed or I can’t find a video for it

Don't see how you can without removing the fender, from what I'm seeing, remove fender, get door aligned better and reinstall fender, gaps are tricky to say the least. I'm sure others will chime in soon.

Either hinge pins or the top mount needs rotated and moved forward. The top mount on the door side needs loosened and pushed in towards the cab also.

Unfortunately looks like your pulling fenders or at least loosening all the way. Because the fender gap was definitely set with the bad door gaps. May end up needing to loosen the core support body mount bolts and pull the whole front clip forward towards the front bumper.

The door needs to be set into the cab and then the fenders lined up accordingly. A lot easier to understand what it needs once you get into it a little bit.

How much play is there in the door hinges? When you open the door, can you move the door up and down? Is it possible the door hinges are just really worn out?

Do you have new door weatherstripping installed? Did you just purchase the truck? Did it just get reassembled after painting?

Moot point, but to you have any PEX on the door strikers?

If you start feeling a lot of resistance closing the door, at about the point where the front of the door is making contact with the weatherstripping, you may need to adjust the front of the door out and away from the cab.

I'm assuming that there's also new weatherstripping on the driver side and it closes ok?

Plenty of lube on the striker.

New weatherstripping indeed on the drivers side, it closes a bit tight but its acceptable.

I'm still going with the front of the door needs adjusted outward a little. Then the fender to match.

Did the door get replaced? I purchased two new doors from GM and they fit like yours gaps at back, bottom and front are very nice but the top sucks. I was going to remove my drip rail at one time but after removing them the gap on top look worse so I just put them back on. Weld a 1/8” rod on top grind and repaint….not happening.
