I recently acquired the above mentioned truck and I could use some help from you guys that have an intact model. This poor truck has been butchered and pieced together so poorly. I needed a plow rig in a hurry and beggars cant be choosers so here I go.
Any way I'm hoping someone can send me a photo of a stock skid plate mount. Mine is lowered from the frame using long bolts and a washer stack. I'm guessing thats not how it came from the factory. The truck also has aftermarket springs so not sure if they're lifted springs and they were trying to keep things in line or what is going on. They're are Tuff Country TCI-2244 springs. I couldn't find any info about them online. Maybe someone here has some experience with these.
I already replaced the transmission mount (which was also a washer stack with a nut mixed in for extra credit on a bent bolt) and both motor mounts which were blown.
Thank you for any insight you guys might have for me.

It’s been a minute but I used to have an ‘80 K10 w/ 4spd so...

It definitely didn’t come with stacked washers. The tcase crossmember should be flush against the frame with long bolts and tube spacers inside the frame.

The tcase skid that attaches to the above crossmember should be basically flat and rectangular with a slight upward bend at the rear lip.

A stock truck measures right at 8.5” between the bottom of the frame and the top of the front axle tube, any difference is your amount of lift.

Those washers are there to try and correct a driveline alignment issue due to the lifting springs. I saw a similar install on a blazer that I looked at but did not buy. There has to be a better way.

Thanks everyone. Those photos were super helpful. I plugged the spring numbers into an AI and they came back as 2" lift spring. Tuff country doesn't have an archive apparently. I cant find any info on them. Right now its just a plow rig for the farm. Would like to get it road worthy and go get some groceries with it.

Skid plates were available, but not a very common factory option.

What transmission and transfer case do you have? I think it matters for skid plate mounting.

In my ignorance I was referring to the crossmember as the skid plate. Sorry, it's been a while.
