Hi im not necessarily new to square bodies because my whole family has had squarbodies my whole life ranging from 73 to 87. I love these old trucks and im getting my grandfathers 78 k20 custom deluxe, but the bad is that shes been sitting for about 15 or so years and is pretty rust the worst is the cab floor its pretty rotted. The truck will need a new bed also but the frame and fenders are salvageable. I was wondering how deep am i getting myself into is it worth it? I would love to see it up and running again as so would my grandfather.

I do not have pictures at this time but when i do i will post. But i can say the floor is almost completely rotted through and i wouldnt trust to put all of your weight on it...the bed no doubt needs replaced. What i was wondereing is if i could salvage the cab by maybe welding in a new floor panel?

Do you think if I found a cab in a junkyard I could cut out the floor if the cab was not salvageable and the floor was? And put it in my cab?

I'm sure that's a scary sight for some of the southern and western members here. But yes, if you have some time and a welder, you can save the cab. The rockers (inner and outer), floor pan and cab supports are all available.

Well it has holes on the roof too how they got there I have no clue. It needs alot of work and yes I do have access to welders and can weld.
