Good news the motor is not locked up, dumped my vacuum 2times cleaning acorn hulls up. The fun part now, I can set in the seat to check if the plugs are firing. I just put a new carb on my 85 might swap out the one I took off and see what happens.

I started washing it yesterday using a scotch brite and a lot of scrubbing this thing looks like a science project all kinds of stuff growing on it. Changed out the carburetor, distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires late last night. Will see today if I can get it running.

Because this was a carpet cleaning van, they had put a spacer under the thermostat with a line going to a s/s tank behind the drivers seat with a return line going to a tee in the lower radiator hose I removed all the hoses and tank also there was a driveshaft connected to the place where the a/c compressor was with the clutch that turned it on and off, the shaft ran above the floor to just behind the seats that operated the vacuum pump. All that is coming out will flush the block and radiator today new thermostat and hoses and we should be ready to hit the road.

I have unbolted all the pumps and dohickies that wash carpet waiting for the PO to pick them up. Flushed the engine and radiator waiting for the hoses to get here too hot outside will have to wait until late this evening to put the parts back together. This van will loose about 500 lbs when I’m done. Will see I will keep you all posted, thanks for the help.

5 days ago I brought this 1978 G20 van home on my trailer, I had to winch the van on the trailer. No idea if it was any good, well it’s great after 10+ years setting it’s running and driving great, thanks for all the help.
