    6.2 wont start

I pulled the return line from the injectors at the T where it goes into the pump, started the truck, and no fuel is coming out. Thats bad isnt it?

    6.2 wont start

Yea but I would rather replace an engine than replace an IP. Plus be my luck they hydrocked it or blew it up using ether with the glow plugs hooked up. On another note I have an issue with another 6.2 auction truck. Starts right up, but idles very rough and smokes excessively then dies few...

    6.2 wont start

Injection pump is bad. Have good stream from filter box, barely a dribble from removed injector line.

    6.2 wont start

It should still fire briefly on starting fluid. Compression, air, fuel are all thats needed... must be lack of compression???

    6.2 wont start

Trying to get a 6.2 started in an auction truck I bought. Glow plugs work, have 12v on pink wire at injection pump, getting fuel at filter box when open bleed screw, no white smoke from exhaust. Even disconnected glow plugs and gave it a shot of either and still no start. If im not mistaken...

    K30/CUCV lift questions

I wouldn't think the drag link less than 1" out of adjustment would have made that much of a difference but it did. I would center your wheels unbolt draglink center steering wheel and see if your off also.

    K30/CUCV lift questions

Problem solved. I cut 1/2" off the end of both links, threaded them back on and adjusted it to fit the pitman arm. Truck steers fine now, drag link was just to long from moving axle forward 1" with the zero rate.

    K30/CUCV lift questions

Ok I centered the tires, dropped the drag link and centered the steering wheel halfway between lock to lock position. With my drag link screwed all the way in it is still to long. Here is a pic. Should I take pitman off, and try to move it forward a little then unscrew drag link a little to...

    K30/CUCV lift questions

I got done with my lift today, now I have a major problem. Truck turns fine to the right but barely turns to the left. Ended up with 5" of front lift and followed ORDs advice and went with drop pitman arm instead of steering block like I planned. I have adjusted the drag ling all the way out...

    K30/CUCV lift questions

Ok I know crossover is best, but just not feasible at this point. What steering correction is better for a D60 with 5" of lift, steering block or drop pitman arm? Or adjustable drag link (S-link)? I have heard to avoid steering blocks but see that ORD now offers one with ARP studs which should...

    K30/CUCV lift questions

Got another quick question. I am having trouble finding 4" blocks for a k30, seems most state 1/2 or 3/4 ton only. Since a 14 ff was also used on a 3/4 ton can I just order blocks and u bolts for a 3/4 ton? Whats funny is the HD front springs part number 18471 that ORD sells for k30's are...

    K30/CUCV lift questions

Thanks for the info. Would I gain anything by using zero rate to move front axle forward 1/2"? Have read others doing this. As far as wheels actually wanting to try and run the hmmwv 2 piece beadlock wheels that the tires are already mounted to. I know that will mean a 2" spacer on the front, or...

    K30/CUCV lift questions

I have a stock m1028, basically a k30 with overload springs in the rear. Want to lift it 5" and put 37" hmmwv tires under it for a greater top speed. Currently with the 4.56 gears and 6.2 diesel/th400 I top out about 50mph. Truck will rarely be offroad, maybe a forest road here and there, so...

    Headlight relay questions

Is 2% noticeable? If im gonna do it I want to do it right. I have both 12 and 16 gauge on hand, the 12 is THHN so a little harder to work with over the 16 gauge automotive I have.

    Headlight relay questions

Thanks, looks like no noticeable difference in light output. Guess I will stick with 16 gauge, since its easier to work with.

    Headlight relay questions

Yea but they use crappy relays, like the LMC kit. For something as important as headlights I dont want to cheap out and end up blind in a curve at 60mph. I have some extra Bosch relays that I plan to use, just trying to figure out if there is any advantage to using 12 gauge over 16 gauge for...

    Headlight relay questions

Getting ready to do the relay mod for my headlights and was wondering what size wire most of you use? Looking at the stock wire (16 gauge), and considering how far it runs before finally getting to headlights, would there be any noticeable benefit in using 12 gauge wire? Or would it work just as...

Run an engine on a cherry picker

Just curious if it would be safe to run an engine for a short time at idle hanging from a cherry picker? I recently acquired a complete 6.2 and would like to see if it runs before going through the trouble of dropping it in a truck. Since I dont own a stand, and hate to buy one for one time...

    Axle identification

Ok got another question. (big surprise right?) Do 14 bolt 1 ton axles have different size drums? I noticed the drums on my parts truck are larger than my good truck. Axle tube diameter and shock bracket spacing are the same on both axles so they should both be 1 tons, although the shock...
