86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

Will the brake line relocation be much of a problem to get the sway bar disconnect to work properly? Also did you have to modify the hole where the transfer case shifter sticks through, or was there enough room to still put the truck into 4-low.

86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

Oh okay thanks, I have to think about it then. Was the truck sagging in the rear of the photo, or was it just the way the photo was taken?

86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

I want to avoid that whole problem all together, thats why I'm sceptical on a 6 inch lift, cause if I need to use a T-case drop to fix driveline issues( it's just to much work for me to start hacking at the floor and what not to get everything to work properly). And its not like theres any rust...

86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

I havent really thought of that. Would be much more affordable for me as well. So if put a 4 inch lift on the truck and keep my rims i have currently. I would guess about 8 inch wide rim and 4 inch backspacing. And when I need new tires I could bump them up to a 305/75R16 or 315/75R16 so there...

86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

Hey Chaz, have any photos? So on your rig you never ran into those common issues then. My truck has the quad front shock system from the factory so I dont think it should be too bouncy. I have the factory 3.73 gearing for my axles. I want 4.56 but wont have the funds to swap, i know the chevy...

86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

I was thinking rough country for lift but I kind-of want to get the tuff country springs from Offroad design since they bundle the kit with what you want, I want to get some of their upgraded shackles and what not and bolt in steering box brace kit. As for rims I'm changing them to a steel 15x10...

86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

Okay thanks, so overall between a 4 inch and 6 inch there wouldn't be much of a difference running 35 inch tires then. is there any huge difference in flex or not much. Any suggestion on who makes a rear good HD bumper. Like is Offroad Designs rear tube bumper pretty solid? For 750 dollars...

86 1/2 Ton Suburban lift help!!!!!

I'm 19 turning 20 this summer. Last year I bought a 1986 chevy suburban from a guy down my road, been sitting for 15 years. Half barned half on driveway. I rebuilt a bunch of it and made it my daily driver while I gave me sister my 97 Burban for here daily driver. I use this truck to get to...

    1986 K10 Suburban 350 chevy rev ranges

I have a holly truck avenger 670CFM with all of the holley brackets to make it work with the turbo 700R4 tranny. I will look into the shift kit for sure and my mechanic set the T.V cable and it works really well. My first to second shift point is very positive but nothing brutal. As for my...

    1986 K10 Suburban 350 chevy rev ranges

I talked to my mechanic and my T.V cable is set on a basic setting he told me. He is going to adjust it next week and I should get another 500 rpm to 1000rpm but I have to see if it makes any of the other shifts point to violent for the tranny, don't want to blow it up.

    1986 K10 Suburban 350 chevy rev ranges

It might just be me, but I recently fixed up my 1986 K10 Chevy Suburban for an everyday driver. It has a 350 in it with a turbo 700R4 tranny. The engine has some performance mods in it, small cam, intake, carb, ignition, headers etc. If I floor it no matter what gear, the truck only revs up to...

    Rear tailgate window cover?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

On my 1986 Chevy Suburban, the tailgate has the piece of steel missing that covered the hole that allows you to work on the motor components for the window. It's more of a rectangular piece and the screw holes around the space in the metal are telling me something is missing. Anyone know what...

    1986 K10 Chevy Suburban Headers

yeah its just the flanges, tomorrow I'm going to pull the starter and see if I cant get the header to fit in, as well I'm going to cut the head studs down first a little then maybe touch the flange if needed.

    1986 K10 Chevy Suburban Headers

I have removed the spark plugs but haven't tried the starter. I will try that next. As well the after market head studs my truck has are just barely in the way of the header fully seating. Should I trim the header a little around ports or cut down the head studs?

    1986 K10 Chevy Suburban Headers

I have a 1986 K10 Chevy Suburban with a 350 in it. I want to put headers on the truck, but without taking the engine out or taking apart the truck to do them. A buddy of mine gave me some old headman standard duty headers. Driver side fits in perfectly but the passenger side just hits everything...
