I got my suburban in the same condition. The door lock(tumbler) had an arm that fit into a square hole in the actual lock. The cam action raised and lowered this plate that the push button engages. So get a small light and a screwdriver, locate the square hole in the lock plate and slide it up... -

One More Question
If you had an 88 v10 Suburban and you were needing new wheels, would you stay with a 15" or go to a 16"? My suburban has these aluminum wheels where the lugs are counter sunk and you have to use a thin walled socket. If I swap them, I'm wanting some basic black steel wheels. Brian- uncle

School me on Tires vs Gears
My 88 Suburban 6.2/700r4 has 3.42 gears and I'm looking for tires. Most of my driving is highway/interstate, and is my DD, it also is my hunting/fishing rig. I'm really thinking 33x10.50r15s in the BFG AT's but am worried i will not have any get-up and go. Are these tires too much for the...- uncle

Window ground question
No... I'm just looking for a place to grab a ground. With my 12v test light, the bulb just barely glows so I know it's not a good ground or the ground is just feedback from somewhere. I can run a dedicated jumper back to the battery and all the windows work. Lift the jumper and i get nothing...- uncle

Window ground question
I followed the great posts already and I see where the ground bus is under the left side by the cluster. My question is, would it hurt anything to jumper the ground to the door panel? I can run a ground jumper to the black wire on the door switch and everything works. I'm going to crawl under...- uncle
