    Uhghhh Motor Probs

I have noticed my exhaust sounding different from the right to left side. Truck is true dualed, so the pass side sounds funny...popping and whatnot. Drivers side sounds great. Does it cold, and also after its been driven, no change. So I do the ole paper test to the tailpipe, and sure enough it...

    Headlight Relay Mod

Yeah, 3 wire on the upper bulbs. The HID install is pretty easy and straight forward. I've done it on a few other vehicles, mine and friends. Plug and play on newer vehicles, I just stress putting in a relay to power them.

    Replace gauge lights with LEDs?

Also ordered these to use for interior/courtesy lights.

    Replace gauge lights with LEDs?

Ordered 10 packs of both of these. Less than $10 a piece off eBay. The ones with the LEDs around the sides I am gonna try in the cluster. The other ones I am gonna use in the side markers, licence plate, 4wd shifter, and the high beam indicator.

Glad to be of assistance! It's not to bad of a job to do.

    Replace gauge lights with LEDs?

Slick....which bulbs did you use? There are a million and one diffrent choices. I'm looking at the ones with the 4 leds around the sides and one in the center. But I don't know what would work best. there are ones with all the light facing out with no light out the sides. So many diffrent...

    Auto dimming mirror w/ compass

I couldn't find a how to on the wiring of the dual display mirror, so all I have is the compass. I'm happy, but would be galore with a dual display!

    left break light problem

Try this. Wiggle your turn signal lever with your foot on the break, while someone watches to see if the break light starts working or is intermittent. The break lights work thru the turn signal switch. I had another truck that did the same thing you describe...it was the turn signal switch not...

    Headlight Relay Mod

If and when I do upgrade the lows to HID, I can't think of any way to keep the lows on with the highs without using a one-way diode or put in a third relay. That is because the upper bulbs are high and low beam. I want to keep all 4 lights on when the highbeams are on. Anyone have any other...

    Headlight Relay Mod

Like Alaska said, a quick way to verify drop is to take a voltage meter and measure. At the output terminal on the alternator, the battery, on the fuse panel, and also at the headlight plug. I moved the voltage sense wire to a open batt connection in the fuse block and changed the voltage drop...

    Replace gauge lights with LEDs?

Yep, I think this is a go for my truck. From the looks of it, the blue LED is brighter than stock bulbs. So clear LEDs should be a little brighter. I just replaced all those darn bulbs, and the dash isn't as bright as I'd like it to be.

    Headlight Relay Mod

No. Atleast not yet. I want to pull juice from the battery instead of the headlight switch...less voltage drop equals brighter lights. Future plans of HIDs also, and they like steady current. Yes they draw less power once on, but HIDs pull more when first turned on...on the startup surge.

    Replace gauge lights with LEDs?

Anyone done this? If so, does it make the gauges any brighter and how many SMDs did you use?

    Headlight Relay Mod

I have searched and came up dry on finding a schematic for the Headlight relay install. I know I can buy a pre made harness, but I have several relays and plenty of wiring/connectors and such to build my own. Just need to know how on the 4 light system.

    Electrical issues

Check the front turn signal bulbs to verify someone hasn't put a single filament bulb in by mistake. The rear lights are separated from the fronts, they get juice thru the turn signal switch. Clean up ALL the ground points. I know this is a dumb question, but are the bulbs good in the side...

I got the ole square all buttoned up. Everything is done except for the seat and keyless/remote start. Even installed an auto dim/compass mirror thanks to the write up on this site. Gonna drive it the next few days to make sure it is all good to go. I am still having a high idle issue. In...

Looks like tomm I am heading out to try and finish up with the ole truck. Trans filter and fluid change, belts, new locks in the doors, wipers, and some other odd and end stuff. If I get it running good and have time and daylight left, a remote start w/keyless is going in it. Then all I will...

72 seat in a 73 and up truck?

Will a 72 seat work in a 87 truck? I have a buddy that has a perfect, and I mean absolutly perfect seat but it was in his 72. He has offered to sale it to me for $100. I found that the pintle is supposed to be no more than 1 1/8 inch from base to tip. I also forgot to put the dang gasket on the IAC when I reinstalled it, well let me correct that, there wasn't one there when I took it out. And I had no clue where that last gasket went. Wonder if that could be...

Yeah, jump A and B terminals. I thought the pintle had to be adjusted to a certain length.

    New to me 87

Yeah upon further research I see the tps isn't a bolt on part. Has to be set when installed. Didn't know that, that's prob my high idle issue. I had the page out when I cleaned the Tbi, but also didn't know the pintle was adjustable. I can't find the setting length for the pintle to the base...

New prom, O2, TPS, knock sensor, cleaned/rebuilt Tbi and installed correct Injectors, truck runs better. However it idles up and down until it warms up. Then it high idles around 12-1300. Sometimes it will drop down where its supposed to be. Doesn't start as quick as I think it should, but...

Prom is the original 305. Injectors are also from the 305. So I am heading out tomm looking for Injectors and a prom. Do you think I should pick up a ESC and knock sensor from the parts house? I know it doesn't matter, but I do have a new TPS and O2 sensor. The TPS is suspect to be bad and the...

I wasn't able to make it out there today, darn weather. But after much research I see where you are going. I need to make sure the injectors and prom are for a 350. I have a line on a guy that has several ecms in his garage, but he doesn't have a clue what engine they were matched to. Said I was...
