Clutch cover and flywheel damaged out of the box?

I don't know if I am being overly dramatic about a cheap flywheel but the pioneer FW-100 I got from summit has some radial scrapes in it out of the box with no damage to the outside of the box. I also have a few much smaller radial scrapes on the clutch cover that is an upgrade for me from...

Body Mount Position 1 not seating

Im replacing the body mount in position 1 under the front of the door on my 84 Blazer and I am having a wicket time getting the bottom mount to fit onto the top one. Ive got the weight of the whole cab and a threaded rod that can't get them to seat. I must not be aligned correctly?!

Top door hinge to door bolt one smaller than the rest

On both sides there is a short bolt out of the whole door hinge bolt kit. I know it is top hinge top row I just cant remember if I took it out of the hole towards the inside or towards the outside. I am sure it is short to clearing something inside the window crank area and if I get it wrong I...

Need correct core support if my headlights are "dual headlights" with the high under the lowbeams or is dual side by side?

AH, side by side dual headlights are a later model year than the one over the other duals... Thanks gm squarebody!!!

Need correct core support if my headlights are "dual headlights" with the high under the lowbeams or is dual side by side?

Why are there two different part numbers? What is the difference? Clearly the difference has to be the way the headlights fasten to the core support otherwise it wouldn't be mentioned in the LMC thuck. The problem is they do not specify which one is pictured in the catelog. I can compair it to...

Need correct core support if my headlights are "dual headlights" with the high under the lowbeams or is dual side by side?

It seems like both are "dual headlights" just with one having the lights next to each other and the other (like mine) one on top of the other. I am looking at LMC truck parts # 32-2547-T or # 32-2548-T. I think mine is single with the separate turn signal with one over the other headlights. I...

Pioneer PIO-100 Flywheel to LMC Truck clutch kit 32-6828 what diameter/length dowel pins should I get?

Put the new throwout bearing in and reinstalled the clutch but the flywheel had no dowel pins. I used a ju ju dance to try and line up the clutch cover but she is definitely off some and makes a nice rattle when in neutral (and when I get on her in low RPM high torque situations). She still runs...

    SM465 Release Bearing Discussion

Id hate for the shaft to wear by the inner portion of the throwout bearing spinning on it. Too late now, she is all bolted up with the "heavy duty" throw out bearing.

    SM465 Release Bearing Discussion

If I knew what the point is used for it would better equip me to make a decision if I want to buy one with one or not. Another option would be to weld a point on the flange but that sounds potentially problematic... I would understand if you folks don't know - it is a pretty obscure question.

    Tired of mechanic shop

The throw out bearing or release bearing (whatever you want to call it) was installed with the spring tab of the clutch fork on the outside of the flange of the bearing instead of inside. This creates a gap in between the bearing and the clutch fork. See youtube video below

    SM465 Release Bearing Discussion

Hello, I just purchased a new release bearing from NAPA its an SKF N4068. The part of the bearing where the clutch fork goes does not have the same "point". Does anyone know what this point is for? It seems to me that it keeps the bearing from spinning on the shaft of the transmission as this...

    Tailgate Shakes

That is the older style tailgate. I have an '84 with the removable hard top, glass and manual crank. LMC does not sell bumpers for the '84 nor do they appear on the schematic. I have yet to drive her since instslling the new bedsides so wheele rattle issues may still be to come!

    Tailgate Shakes

Do you have a photo of the location of the tailgate bumper? There is a small hole right below the guide slot... She still isnt staying tight. No amount of weather stripping along the "C" pillar will "bump" into the tailgate as it shuts.... Weather stripping this tailgate is going to be a...

    Tailgate Shakes

She only had weather stripping along the "C" pillar where the steel alignment tab on the tailgate slides into. I suppose it could have acted like a bumper. I could probably install some weather stripping there and see if that helps.

    Tailgate Shakes

She closes all the way right in the middle of the strikers. I just put new bedsides on her and the tailgate opened and closed ok before the beside replacement. Are the latches junk? Both at the same time? I am worried about the tailgate glass with a wiggley tailgate. Before I take out the...

Gas gage reads over F when hooked up to the printed ciruit but below E when hard wired to the tank/power/ground

A couple of years ago I replaced the entire wiring harness (painless wiring) from headlights to tailights and I am very happy with the results except for the gas gage. I also replaced the printed cuircuit. When hooked up normally to the gage cluster/printed curcuit she would always read over...
