    Tailgate Shakes

That is the older style tailgate. I have an '84 with the removable hard top, glass and manual crank. LMC does not sell bumpers for the '84 nor do they appear on the schematic. I have yet to drive her since instslling the new bedsides so wheele rattle issues may still be to come!

    Tailgate Shakes

Do you have a photo of the location of the tailgate bumper? There is a small hole right below the guide slot... She still isnt staying tight. No amount of weather stripping along the "C" pillar will "bump" into the tailgate as it shuts.... Weather stripping this tailgate is going to be a...

    Tailgate Shakes

She only had weather stripping along the "C" pillar where the steel alignment tab on the tailgate slides into. I suppose it could have acted like a bumper. I could probably install some weather stripping there and see if that helps.

    Tailgate Shakes

She closes all the way right in the middle of the strikers. I just put new bedsides on her and the tailgate opened and closed ok before the beside replacement. Are the latches junk? Both at the same time? I am worried about the tailgate glass with a wiggley tailgate. Before I take out the...

Gas gage reads over F when hooked up to the printed ciruit but below E when hard wired to the tank/power/ground

A couple of years ago I replaced the entire wiring harness (painless wiring) from headlights to tailights and I am very happy with the results except for the gas gage. I also replaced the printed cuircuit. When hooked up normally to the gage cluster/printed curcuit she would always read over...

Stumbled a little for a quarter mile or a half mile while giving it a little throttle going 45mph

I like the plugs and wires idea. The distributor is as old as the engine (5 years). Take a look at the inside of the fuel filter, attached. I just replaced it and am going to try firing it up. Might clean out the gas tank when I replace the sheet metal in the rear end.

Stumbled a little for a quarter mile or a half mile while giving it a little throttle going 45mph

5 year old 350 engine, 10 year old 1406 edelbrock I have rebuilt a couple times. Fuel pump is a couple years old. I think it might be a vacuum leak but I did just adjust the choke to the front of the truck considerably (eighth or a quarter turn) because I am fed up with the fast idle slipping...

Fuel pump pushrod won’t slide into block

I know its a difficult spot to get a good picture of what that material is exactly... Its 99.999% something you could get out if you spent a day whittling down an easy out to get it all the way down to it and gently heating up the outside of the block with a butane torch I betcha would work...

SM465 Chatters when I get on it.

This is definitely the transmission chattering. I "recently" replacing the original 700R4 with my covid SM 465 transmission as a set with an NP 205 and adapter (but no power sleeve) that I got cheap from this kid who said he rebuilt it and it works well enough. I got a power sleeve from company...
