    86 C20 Custom

    Nice!
  2. woodsrider250

Let's see those 250ci 6's! Custom, restored original, turbo builds!

Need to find a pic, but the last I6 I messed with was a 292 Dad and I built to replace an underpowered Iron Duke in a 19' Bowrider. It was a much cheaper repower/upgrade as we only needed to buy one expensive exhaust manifold. We put a Q-Jet on it, which took a while to get jetted right. That...

8" steel wheels that take hubcaps

    That's awesome, thanks!

8" steel wheels that take hubcaps

Do they have the same lip to accept the factory dog dish hubcaps? I've love a set of 8" wide white steelies for my -20.

    D30 m1008

Cruise RPM @ 60mph with stock tires should be ~3000rpm. As mentioned a 350 will enjoy this much more than the 6.2 did, and taller tires will help. There are calculators out there to determine how much.

Imagine your other blazer a touch heavier, with 4.56 gears, and that's what it'll be like.

    Spraying paint

You can use phosphoric acid on it, but some painters say not to. If it's scuffed back down properly I've never seen problems, but you can search for it on here/other places.

    already want a bigger cam

What are the differences in gearing? The -20 probably has a locker in it. Converter makes a huge difference too. Sounds like you're where you need to be for your power delivery desires without getting into a stroker crank or going big block.

    C20 TH350 to 3 on Tree??

Yeah, not too worried about it. A 4.3 V6 makes more power than this engine....LOL. The last time I ran one was in a Modified Stock Car, and they did OK.

    C20 TH350 to 3 on Tree??

Yeah, they might just go together nicely right at the slip joint without anything special.

    C20 TH350 to 3 on Tree??

So I picked this thing up. Research found that the 3sp is the same length as a 6" tail TH350 (my truck is of course 9"). Good news is the donor truck was also a longbed so I just got the shaft and everything. Seller is a member on here and found that there is a conversion u-joint to adapt the...

    C20 TH350 to 3 on Tree??

    Thanks...yes would get everything including flywheel. It's a C10, and mines a 20 with 14b/8lug rear.

    C20 TH350 to 3 on Tree??

Sweet! Thanks. Any idea on the length? I'm going to measure mine and ask the guy to compare. If the donor was a 3/4 LB I'd just take the shaft too.

    C20 TH350 to 3 on Tree??

Hello, all knowing! Been a while since I've been on here :whymewhyme: My TH350 needs rebuilt, and I found a 75 C10 with a 3/tree being parted out. I'd prefer the manual, but don't want a hole in the floor or floor shift at all for that matter. Is this swap direct? I'd get the...

    6.0 liter LQ4 w4L80 trans

Seems to be about the going rate, but some try to whore you on the accessories...wish you were closer. The LQ4 and 2WD 80E can be hard to find...Vans, etc.... Refresh rings, bearings, install ARP fasteners, ready for 600hp of pump-gas boosted fun.

four core copper vs aluminum w plastic tanks

I can't speak for real world test between the two, but since when is aluminum a better conductor than copper? ;)

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

That's a good idea for many applications!!! GMT400 suburban rears are everywhere, and were 134 to start.

    Turbos?

The turbo LSx shit is getting retarded. This was a quick pick from many on youtube. They have become plug and play for the most part, and using a 6.0 truck motor retain torque peak rpm/etc, converter, etc, just a lot more balls everywhere. A LOT more balls everywhere if you want to go...

    Turbos?

It doesn't matter type of bore/stroke config you want, it's the induction that's the decision. If you're going to run a carburetor, it's much easier to run a roots blower than a blow-through-carb. If you're going to run injection, a centrifugal blower, or turbo is easiest. The stock LS...

    Turbos?

A single 88mm turbo'd 6.0LS can make 5-600hp with just an ARP re-fasten, and cam.

    HEI Distributor Height

That's good to know. Something to keep an eye out for if I run into issues down the road with the current 1" intake hole in the cleaner...LOL.

    HEI Distributor Height

Thanks for the replies. That is indeed one spotless engine bay. My 74 air cleaner doesn't look like that. Mine has the heater tube off the exh manifold, and hot air choke. The body is probably 2-3" more in diameter than that. I guess when you think about it top of q-jet is same no matter...

    HEI Distributor Height

How much taller, if any, is a HEI dizzy? I don't have one in hand to know. I'd like to put one in my 74 to replace the points dizzy, but not if I can't retain the OE air cleaner...then I'll just go pertronics. THANKS!

    73-76 maybe 77 3/4 Ton Driveshaft

Sorry, didn't get to it last night, ice everywhere. Will get it ASAP. When measuring the shaft(s), do you want measurements from 'tube to tube' or from 'cap to cap' as in ujoint cap? Will measure tailshaft (housing) as well. If that works out I may slap a R4 in my shit temporarily as my TH350...
