Swapping to manual hubs
I’m considering Warn hubs for my 84 K20. Question is- is it worth the time and money. Truck is not a daily driver, but gets good use in summer hauling and picking up parts form my other builds. I only use 4WD if I go off road. Pro’s - are better fuel mileage as front driveline doesn’t work as...- MMostowyk

Gas tank cleaning
Since the build is ongoing I haven’t put fuel in the tank yet. Fingers crossed about the sealant. It looks good, but who knows long term.- MMostowyk

Gas tank cleaning
I just finished this job on my 40 Ford. Old stuff. I used a kit from Eastwood. You supplement with acetone and muriatic acid. It takes all day as you have to do each step in succession, but at the end, it’s cleaned of varnish, de rusted and sealed. Nice and clean.- MMostowyk

Lt1 swap in 73 k10
I have done this swap with a 4L60 trans. Because I pulled the complete package, ecm and all, it was relatively easy. Howell engineering out of Detroit built a custom harness and ecm with core swap. Gauge cluster with tach
I did this in my 84 k20 with a 96 LT1/4L60 combo. The VSS issue is only difficult if you remove the trans tail stock and lose the VSS signal. Then it’s about converting mechanical input from trans to electrical signal. Otherwise you need to make sure that all the printed leads in the cluster...- MMostowyk

'98 383 stroker in a 82 C10
In 2002 I put into my 84 K20 a 96 LT1 4L60 combo mated to the transfer case. The 3.73 gears give it modest grunt and a comfortable highway cruise at just under 2k revs. Burns regular gas and gets pretty good mileage considering size and weight.
