    A little later then it was. Something like 18mph (hard shift) well firm 40mph (softer shift) I think. Had a shift kit installed when I had the trans rebuilt. And the dude put a vette servo in as well. If that sounds right. I could be messing up what its called.

    And there you have it. Didn't even need to adjust anything. Edelbrock cable mounting bracket and geometry corrector. Thank you guys for your help and replies. ! Heading over to the carb section now. Lol

    I was actually telling a buddy I was going to try this trick. Lol good call... Well I hope. As long as its in place all the shift points are good. I just have to be gentle on the gas. I just really dnt want to pay for another tranny.

    Are mostly all edelbrock G- brackets kinda the same? Im not sure what model my carb is. I was told a 750 cfm but that's about it. I know that have a few 750's but would the bracket b e the same? Maybe I should just grab the geo-bracket and mounting bracket just to be safe? They look pretty lvl...

    Is there some kind of other adjustment on the carb thst could be too tight causing the cable locking mechanism to keep stripping? Could the plunger on the tranny cause this? My gas peddle is really tight and not because of a heavy return spring or whatever its called.

    It shouldn't be stripped. Its a new cable but I guess anythings possible.

    I have no slack in the cable. It starts to pull the cable immediately when acceleration begins. My question is what would make it reset itself and pull itself out by itself in the picture after being set? It did that to me last night for some reason.

    update... Wouldnt matter how I adjusted the cable slipping damage was already done probably due to poor cable adjustment by previous owner so sent it out for performance rebuild.

    Yeah I can feel it retract when pulling on the cable. Has about a 1"maybe 1 1/2 of pull ( just guessing) ok back at it when I get home. Thank you for your feed back.

    No your reading it properly . Was just wondering if it could be something else going on. I'm going to keep at it hopefully I make some progress. Seems like no matter what I do and it shifts the same. So I unattacted it from the trans to make sure the plunger didn't fall off while installing it...

    I'm having the same problem with leaking out of where the detent cable connects to the trans. So my question is. Should it be leaking out when it is on lvl ground and not running?
