    Personally I would prep the bed and do a spray in bed liner. It will hide a lot of sins and is easy to spray. Some of the kits even come with the correct spray gun.

    Thanks again for the information. Mine are pretty crusty that's why Im thinking its time to replace rather than redo as you are. I guess maybe I'll get mine off the truck and evaluate more before committing to one or the other path. This information has been helpful.

    So I have an 87 R10. The front control arms, both upper and lower are, well from New England. Lol. They’ve seen better days. And while I could remove them, press out all bushings and ball joints. Then sand blast and paint etc before rebuilding them. I would prefer to just replace with new units...

    4/6 drop questions

    This is just my opinion, others may chime in. But it has been my experience that once you go past a 4" drop in the rear a notch is going to be needed. You might get away without, but when driving and hitting bumps, or if you put anything in the bed, the axle would hit the frame.
