So I have an 87 R10. The front control arms, both upper and lower are, well from New England. Lol. They’ve seen better days. And while I could remove them, press out all bushings and ball joints. Then sand blast and paint etc before rebuilding them. I would prefer to just replace with new units.

I’ve seen the Dorman and Moog uppers that are available. But don’t see any lowers. Am I missing something?

The only thing I do see is on Summit but for C20’s. See attachment. But are they the same and the C10’s use?

Thanks for any guidance.

1/2 tons use a nut with washer on the shafts to retain the bushings and a 3/4 ton uses a threaded bushing type arrangement (like in the photo). The lowers are something harder to find new replacements for, but LMC might carry them. Could try rock auto aswell.

3/4 ton shafts (this is an upper but still the same)

This is a 1/2 ton shaft with conventional nuts

Quite expensive at $400 each.

In terms of the locations of the spring pockets, shock mounts, bump stop, and ball joints yes. Because of the threaded bushings the control arm has threads for it as opposed to a 1/2 ton with press in bushing shells. However it appears that the sub frame x member is the same and 3/4 ton arms w/ their appropriate shafts will fit on a 1/2 ton member. LMC does carry complete 1/2 ton lowers for 149.95 each. Part numbers 34-2622 34-2623

Thanks again for the information. Mine are pretty crusty that's why Im thinking its time to replace rather than redo as you are. I guess maybe I'll get mine off the truck and evaluate more before committing to one or the other path. This information has been helpful.
