Another dieseling thread
Maybe this has been flogged to death........... Just built my 355. Compression 10.1:1 initial timing 10° BTDC, but not sure what idle speed......... 87 octane fuel non-ethanol. I can idle the critter for 5 minutes and get some dieseling when I shut 'er down. No pinging when I rev it up, but have...- Ronno6

Replacing fenders
Had a great visit to AMD in Buford, Georgia. Paid our kids a visit and drove the 97 F150 (269K miles..) and picked up the 2 front fenders and 1 wheel house. Nice visit! (And 10% discount didn't hurt!) Thanks, AMD !! -

Thanks! It tool a bit of persuasion, but I managed to coax the shaft back to length. Now, why does my steering wheel lock not function??- Ronno6

I purchased a tilt column for my 84 C10. When I received it, the shaft is pushed up into the bottom of the housing be over an inch... the hole for the cross bolt in inside the bearing at the bottom- not how it was pictured. Apparently the whole shebang has moved upwards inside the housing. Is...- Ronno6

'89 'Burban buckets onto 84 C10
Located a pair of buckets out of am '89 Suburban. Any ideas on puttin' into my 84 C-10?? -
Header Installation
As I have removed the inner and outer fenders,etc., it was EZ enough to prop the header up under the engine and reach down grab it, and snake it through the opening and into position. DONE !! Now, when my proper reducers arrive, I will fit up the exhaust.- Ronno6

Not it. Close,tho.... The harness comes out where you have a rubber plug just under your harness on the left side in the pic. I believe that I have figured out that it originally connected to the distributor, and the 12v power wire plugs into it. This supplies the distributor and voltage to the...- Ronno6

Raining here too! Looks like it would plug into distributor cap and pink power lead plug into it. I can't imagine why.............. And, I can't find it on any schematic yet. But, is part of ESC harness along with 4 prong dist. plug,knock sensor wire,2 prong "tip in" vacuum switch and ground...- Ronno6

This connector is on the harness that has the ESC 4-prong connector and the knock sensor terminal: Long enough to reach the distributor, but I don't believe that is where it connects......- Ronno6

Use rear seat in front??
There is a great many used rear seats in pristine condition available, way more so than fronts. As my '84 C10 has humpy floors due to dual tanks, use of electric seats is pretty much out as they be too tall. How doable would it be to repurpose a rear seat from a crew cab or 'burban into the... -

I gotta think about that one for a sec....If you do not connect the plug, no power to the ignition switch? That means the switch is closed when no oil pressure is present? Then the switch opens when the pressure comes up? If so, wouldn't that shut the ignition down? Or, is this a 2 circuit...- Ronno6

Replacing Radiator Core Support
Has anyone out there replaced the riveted-on radiator core support brackets found on the 81-87 pickups? Dunno if they were always riveted on, but mine are. Did you drill the rivets out, or grind then off...or sawzall them ?? If you drill them, what size bit? How hard are the rivets? Good ol'... -
