    That transfer case is one of the strongest that gm used. That wouldn't be my first concern, the 700r4 would be. It is a very weak tranny in comparison with the others from that day.

    not sure, the numbers are faded on the new ecm. The one in my truck is 1227747. The one that i got from the 89 was out of a heavy duty 1 ton with a 454 and a 40l80. i think that the tranny is the reason why it is different. gonna be looking at Pull a part in the near future.

    Got the ECM....wrong kind its from an 89, i thaught that they would interchange as long as it is tbi. guess not.

    I really like the way that the stock cab lights look. LMC sells some look alikes. if i ever get a 4x4 ill definately put these on it.

    my truck skipped multiple teeth, the gear on the cam was 90* off from where it should have been. The way that I checked it was bumped the motor over to TDC then looked at the position of the rotor and it was off from where #1 wire came from(or 180 out) I’ve never had a problem with AutoZone...

    put the chips back in the old ecm and there is a check engine light. i will warranty the new ecm.

    im 99% positive that the chips are in right. im going to put the chips back into the old ecm to see if it is a bad chip or if the ecm that i bought is bad.

    my dad started messing with the chips to makesure that they were seated properly and now it wont start and no check engine light. there isnt any light even when the key is on and engine off.

    got the ecm swapped over and it fired right up but the check engine light is rapidfireing like you said. i checked the PROM chips and none of the terminals were bent. is there something else that could cause this?

    buy a crank for a stock 400 sbc, this gives you 3.75 stroke with a bigger main(stonger) than the 350, you will have to get the block line bored to fit the bigger main. use 6in h beam rods(stronger than I beams) and a shorter piston, this gives you more mechanical advantage on the crank...

    I agree that if you want a good desiel for a small truck to go with a cummins or duramax. My dad has a 06 duramax crewcab dually that has upgraded turbos to the point the intake would have to be upgraded to go any bigger and 6in pipes out the back and a boost controller......it beat a brand new...
