    Aftermarket A/C?

    Here is another one I found that's 12V. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXDYJ7M9/

A/C stops blowing when I come to a stop??

To clarify, your saying that the HVAC blower works when you are driving down the road, but then stop working when you come to a stop? Then starts working again when you start driving? Or are you saying that the A/C stops blowing cold air when at a stop. And the the air from the HVAC gets cold...

    Aftermarket A/C?

Your suggestions led me here: RV Air Conditioner, 12V 10000 BTU Top Mounted Heating and Cooling Parking Air Conditioner Set for RVs, Trucks, Vans, Campers Regular price $895 From what I read, this unit is very small and compact, and even has a remote control, so you...

    Aftermarket A/C?

Good ideas people - I will check around and try to find a 12V for free or cheap. I think 12V is the way to go. Replacing the alternator would be easy enough, or possibly even add a second dedicated alternator. I have plenty of good heavy duty deep cycle 1000 CCA batteries laying around.

Replacing a single frame rail, can it be done?

I would probably call a frame repair shop, and see what they have to say. What they would charge, why it would or wouldn't work, etc. If there are no frame repair shops in your area, then just call one in a different time zone. Call one that's in Hawaii. Doesn't matter where they are in the USA...

Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

Nice ride. Ya, a better motor would always be .... better, I suppose. Right new, I can burn rubber with the 37's, on pavement - but not reliably. Sometimes it just accelerates real fast. I think I will try stepping down to a 34.5 or maybe 35 and see what that does.

    Questions on carb upgrade

The best pace to find used manifolds is going to be eBay or Facebook Marketplace. Both place will range from $100 to $200. I have seen them on FB for $50. As for the carb, you can usually get adapter plates so that you can make it work. The adapter plates also raise the carb up off the...

    Pinion angle and funky Ubolts

Always cheaper online. Call around, find what ya want and collect the part number. Then Google the part number and find it for 40% to 80% less. Many times with next day free delivery.

Might just need to switch them around. Easy enough with a floor jack and a wrench.

    Aftermarket A/C?

I see people installing complete A/C kits on non A/C rigs. I see people installing aftermarket kits that add a new ducting system and vents below the dash. I have seen people with hitch mounted cargo racks on the back of rig holding a generator and a window A/C system ducted into the cab. What...

    Ball joint

One way to get grease into a ball joint is to bypass the zirk. You go to Walmart and get some "marine grease" and some rubbing alcohol. The grease has good compatibility with other greases, and 90% alcohol is ideal. Then you go to a farm supply store and buy some syringes that have...

    Pinion angle and funky Ubolts

I'm not following. The blocks are creeping out form under the spring, which is not good. But beyond that, I see no problem. The angled / tapered blocks should have pins to keep them from moving.

1990 R2500 Suburban speedometer not working

I would buy a HUD display for the spedo. It projects the speed onto your windshield. That way you can see your speed without taking your eyes off the road. They plug into the cigarette lighter and work off of GPS. Plug and play, and way cooler than the dash gauges. $20...

Truck won’t turn. What’s that sound?

Well, changing the pump without diagnosing it could solve the problem, but it could cause more problems. For example: Your pump is OK. Your carb inlet screen is plugged. You change the pump, and the new pump is defective or you forget the push rod. You replace the carb. Problem remains. How...

    Remove O2Sensor

Might be worth resetting the computer. Just disconnect the negative battery cable then turn the ignition on for a few minutes. Then the computer will start from scratch and relearn all the inputs, including from the O2 sensor.

Truck won’t turn. What’s that sound?

I would test the pump before replacing it. This could be done by: Make sure there is fuel in the tank, regardless of what the fuel gauge says. (just add 5 gallons to be sure). Remove the fuel hose from the carb, and put that hose in a bucket. Then spray a 3 second shot of starting fluid into...

Heavy miss / stumble at 1500+ RPM.

Update: problem solved. Thanks. I was thinking it might be vacuum related. But I got it sorted out. Update: moved the distributor / tach wires around (and choke, which is wired into the dist.+ Wire). That solves it enough to get me home. Ran fine. But there is definitely a short on one of...

Heavy miss / stumble at 1500+ RPM.

All of the sudden the rig can't accelerate. Heavy heavy miss and stumble about 1200 to 1500 RPM. Lurching and popping if I floor it or even try to accelerate normally. Have to baby it. Also, when the engine cuts out and stumbles, the tach needle drops, like the power supply is cutting out...

Here’s the best heavy rust dissolver for smaller parts like nuts and bolts that you’re probably not aware of and is probably in your kitchen.

I agree, Vinegar is a great cleaner. From my understanding, many good cleaners are acidic. The only thing I have found that works better than vinegar is battery acid, which can be used in much fewer situations and is far more hazardous to work with. On a side note: - Short version: Vinegar is...

    Intake manifold and stripped bolt

Damn dude, that is by far the best suggestion so far. Access the threads that are not stripped by using a longer bolt. Genius! Your name must be Brett.

    Transmission Fluid Question

Agreed. From my understanding, you can always go up on the Dexron number, but never down below the minimum number. The higher numbers are just better versions of the lower numbers and are backwards comparable.

Truck won’t turn. What’s that sound?

It might be a terminology issue. I went back and read through the previous comments. If an engine wont turn over, then the crankshaft will not turn. For example, the starter doesn't work, the battery is dead or the engine is seized. In your video, the engine turns over just fine. The engine...

Truck won’t turn. What’s that sound?

Will the motor turn over? Will it fire on starting fluid? If not, I would not fill the float bowl with gas.

SM465 popping out of 1st (not Low)

I have hears of this happening in different gears. You are not alone. As for the cause? All I can do is Google " manual pops out of gear " which gives generic answers.

Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

I could bore scope through the oil pan drain plug to see the main caps? But as far as minor performance upgrades are concerned, I suppose it doesn't really matter if its 2 or 4 bolt.
