no power to anything in cab

I only have one question...does the bracket at the middle of the harness normally mount to the upper passenger trans to engine bolt?

no power to anything in cab

Got the new harness and installed it. Now everything seems to be operating like it should. I should have just replaced it a lot of headaches ago. Old versus new...

no power to anything in cab

I'm done, time for a new harness! Question...I have a nice interior harness out of a 78 and it has glass fuses. Any reason I shouldn't "go back" to glass fuses and order a 78 engine wiring harness?

Am I correct in thinking the wires at the junction block should always be hot? I'm doing more wire tracing

interesting. Another interesting thing is the wire that goes to the "s" terminal on the solenoid is also the power wire for my wipers! Lol.

no power to anything in cab

Thanks for all the thoughts and info. I wouldn't have guessed the fusible links that go to the starter solenoid would power the fuse block. Apparently the 2 fusible links that go to the solenoid are supposed to be twisted together and taped together because who needs any lights? I jumped the...

no power to anything in cab

I've been looking at the factory service manual and it's not the kind of diagrams i'm used to. What are the black circles next to 32BLK?

no power to anything in cab

I tested at the fuse block (inside) and am getting power to several but not all fuses. I'm having trouble reading what the fuses go to since the letters are worn. I am getting continuity over the tootsie roll fusible link and the wire from the tootsie roll fusible link is getting power at fuse...

no power to anything in cab

Yes I checked the fuses and they look good. I pulled each one out and looked at them. I will see if I can find the tootsie roll, my wiring harness has been chopped up so bad I'm tempted to replace it, when I have time I'll hit the junkyards.

no power to anything in cab

79 c10. I have no power to the headlight switch, wiper switch, blower motor. I have zero exterior lights. The only thing my truck will do is start and run. I've been searching the forum and googling without much luck. Is there a fusible link for all these? If so where is it located, at that...

cannot get brakes to pump up 79 square

I was opening the bleeder screws on wheel cylinders with a wrench and when the wrench hit the axle I figured it was far enough. It was about a quarter turn but no brake fluid would come out. I tried bleeding again today but when the wrench hit the axle I removed the wrench and turned the...

cannot get brakes to pump up 79 square

I replaced the master cylinder with a new one about a year ago. I haven't driven it any distance since I've been repairing other things. replaced rear shoes, rear wheel cylinders, rear rubber brake hose, both rear solid lines, and solid lines from rear to the prop valve. I removed the switch...

Any tips on removing old brake hoses?

I just did mine today. I removed the horseshoe clip on the rubber end of the line where it goes through the frame. Then I was able to push the brake line in towards the engine bay, this gave me better access to where the metal line goes into rubber line. I used a 16mm and vice grips to get them...
