    Need help identifying these seats

Hi everyone, I have a question about a pair of bucket seats I have upstairs in the shop building. I think these are the old seats out of our '84 or '90 Burbs; we refreshed the interiors in both trucks with nicer seats from parts trucks.

Craigslist / Facebook/ OfferUp Finds: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

This sold for a little over $15K. This combo would've been better in the 70s than on an 80s Burb. I really don't recall seeing too many slantnose square Burbs that were green, other than the darker green with tan or gold rockers.

How to ID 16" 8 bolt wheels?

This is the tool I was talking about. Half inch conduit with a union, drilled and riveted. I had it in the Crew Cab long bed, then it got taken out after that truck got wrecked. Was in the shop with the other stuff out of that truck, I got it yesterday and used it on a tire swap. The square body...

Two questions, one about color and one about options

IIRC the last several years of the perimeter bolt valve cover small blocks, they were corporate blue. I think the black engine started with the TBI and center bolt covers, in '87. Our '84 Burb had a blue 350, and the '90's was black. '79 Burb had a blue 350 too but it was a GM Goodwrench or...

What have you done to your square lately??

Blower relay or resistor may be bad, common on these trucks. And they didn't use a heater control valve, so the hot water circulates through the core all the time. That does affect AC performance so for our Texas Burbs, Dad installed a manual shut-off valve inline.

This company also makes a superfood non dairy creamer that we carry at my Costco. I think it's a good brand. Says they're certified USDA organic, vegan, gluten free, non GMO verified, and Kosher (the circled U). We also have ready to drink teas and sodas from other brands that have the lion's...

    Y'all ever seen this color?

Tangier Orange is definitely ORANGE, we almost bought a truck that color in '78. Saw the Colonial Yellow and decided that was a little bit easier to take.... Still didn't keep the poor truck from getting run into a few times though (we wanted a high visibility color because it was going to be a...

What have you done to your square lately??

Our GMC R2500 was white where yours is red, and light metallic blue where the white is on yours. I miss that Burb....I did a lot of wrenching on it, but we also went a lot of places in it. It was a good ol Burb....

We haven't been to that swap meet since about '95/96.... Mom and I changed jobs and we didn't have that much time off anymore. It's a 12 hour drive one way from Houston.... Last time we were in Oklahoma at all was another family reunion in summer 2011. Rented a new Charger for the long weekend...

What have you done to your square lately??

Yes I have been in Oklahoma wind, it definitely blows.....last time we set up in outside spaces at the Chickasha swap meet, there were 40-50 MPH gusts at the Grady County Fairgrounds where the meet was held.... Bent the tent poles around us, as my Dad and I were holding them down, while Mom was...

    New Guy From Oklahoma

That is like what my cousin said about South Austin, that his '64 C10 was practically a new truck.

    New Guy From Oklahoma

Well now, Texas is a little bit bigger than Oklahoma, and we have a higher population, so that averages out to more vintage truck owners.... And technically I'm half Okie since Mom's parents were from Oklahoma but actually met in South Texas.

    Which Impact Tool

Don't remember the exact specs on the metabo 1/2 cordless impact gun I have, but it's 18V and can be charged up completely in 30 minutes or less. It takes care of the lug nuts on my 8 lug trucks and I've used it at the wrecking yard too, pulling wheels. The battery detaches and slides onto the...

OEM "Original Equipment Remanufactured" company - any good?

Yep that's a whole parts house right there.... You don't think about all the companies that make/sell parts, until something like this happens. I've bought/sold and used most of those brands for decades.

I hear ya...mine got a much needed rinsing during the rain/sleet yesterday and this morning. Too cold to do anything to it even though I need to..... My neighbor Paul went out and ran his Caprice this morning; she didn't want to start and stay running real well. On cold damp mornings like this...

What have you done to your square lately??

The 81 color is more root beer, little bit more red in it. I think this is the 79-80 metallic brown, or a close color. When the 78 Sierra shop truck got wrecked at 1 year old, we had a 79 Silverado long bed in that brown metallic, with the cream colored top and side panels, plus the hood with...

What have you done to your square lately??

I'll have to remember that trick on the O2 sensor socket. All 3 of my trucks probably need them.... Done 3 of 4 on the Burb, Crew Cab longbed's were acting up when I got it but settled down after being driven more and tuned up. Hoping that will straighten out the "new" ccsb, got several things...

I Spy A Cool GM Truck

That's how our '81 shop truck was. Everything else was Silverado....of course the early burbs were round eyes and the 75 and 78 pickups too. The 90 R2500 Burb had those quad beams, fortunately we didn't have to buy any.

I Spy A Cool GM Truck

This is what I just got on Wednesday, bought it from the second owner, who lives down the road from the first owner who bought it new in Yoakum, Texas (near Shiner). Looks kinda like my other Crew Cab (the one that got wrecked) but this one is 3 years newer and a C2500 short bed instead of a...
