Need a cheap AM/FM radio. NO FRILLS. NO CD/ NO MAGIC ****/ Want knobs. There is only one worthwhile FM station in Tombstone.

Any suggestions.

Radio and speakers were stripped from truck before I got it. Truck came with windshield antenna but windshield replaced without one.

The last time I bought a knob radio from a parts store, it's was a very low quality POS. I like getting them from parts cars, garage sales, flea markets, etc. You might find a dud because of age, but they often work too. And they are often higher end units that get good reception, like Sony or Kenwood or something.

They are very easy to bench test before installing in the truck.

Unless it’s already been done, you’ll need to get a radio harness from eBay. GM standardized the radio harnesses in 1977 so it’ll be different than yours is if it’s still wired for the factory radio.

got no radio wires, no speakers, no speaker harness, no antenna, and no antenna wire. Other than that I'm set.

Got this 2004 (I think) Alpine for free, but I doubt you'd pay much more for something similar on evilBay. However, an OEM shaft radio is the way to go if all you want is the basics. It was a real PITA installing a DIN radio in the dash. I shoudla woulda coulda bit the bullet and installed a Retrosound.

Looks like you might already be set up, but if that falls through I suggest going with a used oem radio. I think Pyle and Jensen still make shaft replacement replacement radios but they are expensive. If you have no wiring, American International makes radio side plugs that will plug into your radio and have wire leads out to the speakers, power, ground, and acc.

"expensive" is key word here.

Can't find American International. Get beauty products company

They got nothing pre-1977 when they got standardized. eBay wants $60 up. I refuse to pay more for wires than the radio. I guess I'll have to make my own.

Compare GWH341 to the back of any radio you are considering. In some catalogs they use that number (or equivalent) as a 73-87 model some list as a 77-90, 78-91 etc. I used the female version of that plug for my 91. Is using a later model shaft radio acceptable being its not "correct"? Being that you have no wiring you are in control here.
