Redundant oil pressure sender?

I have an 85 K1500 reg cab long bed with an SBC 350. I'm swapping out the dist. and have found an oil pressure sender behind/under it. I'm not sure it does anything as one of the wires going to it is just laying on top of the motor. I'm thinking this was possibly original to the truck and was for something else that is no longer active. I've been cleaning up random wiring that has just been laying around on the engine and zip tied up as this motor is not original to the truck and is very basic. Any particular reason i should keep this? I think i would prefer to remove it and just go with the oil sender i put next to it.

Thoughts?

Should be for the electric choke. That way the choke is only supplied power when the engine is running and producing oil pressure.

Should be for the electric choke. That way the choke is only supplied power when the engine is running and producing oil pressure.
Ah, that would make sense and probably explain why the blue wire is just laying on the intake. I added an electric choke but just ran the power to a keyed source. Oil pressure switch would make more sense i guess to keep it closed longer when cranking/pumping lol.

I ran mine to a buzzer that screams bloody murder when the pressure gets low. I only hear it just before it cranks.

It's so the choke doesn't get power and open to soon,or overheat,from leaving the key on or extended cranking for other reasons.
