Because it's in the block drain. Also, that's a knock sensor not a temp or pressure sender.

Oil pressure is directly above the oil filter on the side of the block. Or at the rear of the block behind the intake in the China wall next to the distributor.

The top one pictured is for the light the big can looking one in the lower pic is for the gauge.

You can but you might need to use an angled fitting to clear the distributor.

You can use the one by the distributor or the one above the oil filter.

my 1990 burb has a combo oil pressure sensor and and fuel pump bypass all in one behind the distributor. I'd guess your 89 is the same.

I think i remember somebody doing a write up about the Dakota digital gauges and adding an oil pressure sensor for the gauge by the filter. might have been at the plug. search it up.

Between 1/4" and 3/8" is 5/16". Get a piece 5/16" key stock.

Grainger, NAPA and others have it. Hacksaw a piece off and use a 12 point socket or open wrench. You can also buy female square sockets. The key stock works like an allen socket.

I just took a grinder to a spare 3/8 ratchet extension.

Mine does not. Only the 2wire. Strange because my guage reads but cannot locate the device.
