It has a new 600 holley on it, it had a Q jet on the smoking 305 when I got it, going to bump the timing down a little and replace the thermostat this weekend and hopefully get started back on the other problem of the day that the truck makes but that's the fun rite?
I pulled the tank when it started acting up to check the sock filter and the fuel return is a open 1/4 line that dumps into the top of the sending unit and the other line went to the vapor can that I removed so I guess the tank vents through the cap and the sending unit has no vent, 3 line...
It has a 1/4 inch return, when I took the mechanical off I put a small plastic fuel filter on it and turned it down to keep dirt and trash from getting in it and using it for the vent.
The first thing I did when this all started was swap my fuel pump out (put a new one on it when I installed the new motor and it had less than 1000 miles on it and advanced swapped it for free) checked the vent and even ran it without the cap just to see if it was a vent issue and the performer...
Going through the same thing on my 84 (single tank)
It started about a month ago when it started getting super hot in Bama. new motor is a 60 over 350 edelbrock dual plane performer intake, 600 holley with doug's headers.
It started acting like it was running out of gas after about 10...
your 4150 should have a large port on the back for your brake, I drilled and tapped my spacer in the front for a 3/8 barb fitting for my pcv.
If yours doesn't have a port on the rear of your carb you can drill and tap the back of your spacer and use it for the brake.
your 4150 should have a...
My dad owned a car dealership for many years and I learned a lot of used car tricks, no bananas in the trans but I did learn the newspaper under the bearing and it works for a while if you need to get it by for a while and heavy oil helps.
I will check that tomorrow, I started the truck before I connected the choke wire and might have blown a fuse. it was late and I was tired and forgot about it till I was double checking everything.
Great ideas, I got to do something to get more fuel before I do any traveling, I like to drive early and always doing something like going the back way through little small towns just to see what's there, My 84 had the duals on it so it wasn't a problem.
Got the motor and tranny back yesterday, my trans guy did me rite and just charged me for the housing and swapped my guts out for free and wrote fragile do not drop on the housing.
We all had a good laugh on me and thats ok, My motor guy found me a oil pan and checked the crank and the oil...
Hey everyone,
Anyone seen any quick and easy way to install a second tank on the 84 K10 on the forum?
Just thinking of maybe doing a lager tank or adding a second one, maybe one in the bed or doing the factory setup.
Don't want to buy a bed for the gas inlet so I'm up for y'alls ideers :)
Fill the pump and loosen the return and have a helper bump the truck over without starting it and catch it in a mason jar and see if you get any trash out of it
