    chev c 10 fuel problem

It has a new 600 holley on it, it had a Q jet on the smoking 305 when I got it, going to bump the timing down a little and replace the thermostat this weekend and hopefully get started back on the other problem of the day that the truck makes but that's the fun rite?

    chev c 10 fuel problem

I pulled the tank when it started acting up to check the sock filter and the fuel return is a open 1/4 line that dumps into the top of the sending unit and the other line went to the vapor can that I removed so I guess the tank vents through the cap and the sending unit has no vent, 3 line...

    chev c 10 fuel problem

It has a 1/4 inch return, when I took the mechanical off I put a small plastic fuel filter on it and turned it down to keep dirt and trash from getting in it and using it for the vent.

    chev c 10 fuel problem

The first thing I did when this all started was swap my fuel pump out (put a new one on it when I installed the new motor and it had less than 1000 miles on it and advanced swapped it for free) checked the vent and even ran it without the cap just to see if it was a vent issue and the performer...

    Pcv valve hose

your 4150 should have a large port on the back for your brake, I drilled and tapped my spacer in the front for a 3/8 barb fitting for my pcv. If yours doesn't have a port on the rear of your carb you can drill and tap the back of your spacer and use it for the brake. your 4150 should have a...

rod knock when warm, good oil pressure. just replace bearings?

My dad owned a car dealership for many years and I learned a lot of used car tricks, no bananas in the trans but I did learn the newspaper under the bearing and it works for a while if you need to get it by for a while and heavy oil helps.

Great ideas, I got to do something to get more fuel before I do any traveling, I like to drive early and always doing something like going the back way through little small towns just to see what's there, My 84 had the duals on it so it wasn't a problem.

any ideas on installing a auxiliary fuel tank

Hey everyone, Anyone seen any quick and easy way to install a second tank on the 84 K10 on the forum? Just thinking of maybe doing a lager tank or adding a second one, maybe one in the bed or doing the factory setup. Don't want to buy a bed for the gas inlet so I'm up for y'alls ideers :)

whats a good header to buy for my stock 85 K20

For the price you can't go wrong with the summit 1.5's if you are willing to spend the time to prime and paint them with the high heat ceramic paint, I couldn't afford the coated ones and was worried about buying unpainted ones but I took my time and hung them from the ceiling with bailing wire...

Thanks guys, I'm installing a new motor (thats another story in the forum) I'm going to try leaving it off and doing any knock control with the distributer.

    Whats this vacuum switch do?

What I thought was the temp gauge down by the starter is the knock sensor?

    Whats this vacuum switch do?

Thanks for the info, I don't think there is anything other than temp and pressure sensors left on the motor. On the driver side there is a oil pressure sensor down by the filter and a small can beside the distributer I think is for the oil pressure gauge, a sensor in the head water jacket by #1...

What have you done to your square lately??

Block is ok and so far the front pulley, oil pan and my new summit fuel pump is shot. the tranny got the worst of it. I guess the worst is my pride because I am 53 and drag raced since I was 18 and swapped many motors and never had this happen.

On my 84 K10 I have it has a vacuum switch on the passenger side firewall that looks like the tc lock up thats on the driver side. When I got the truck I was surprized it would even start or move after I saw what was unplugged under the hood. the switch has a 2 pin plug in and should have a...
