    Bench seat adjustment

I know that this is an old thread, but looks like you could gain 3-4” of legroom by modifying the bench frame and or relocating where the seat mounts to the floor. That’s my plan when I get around to it. I’m 6’6” so it will be a must. I may look at adjusting the gas pedal so it doesn’t ride so...

Th400 to manual swap with 6.0(L96)

I am building my truck from the frame up. My truck had a SBC 350 with a th400 and np208 TC when I bought it. I love driving manual transmissions and would rather have overdrive for the highway. My goal is for this to be a daily driver when I’m finished and a 5 or 6 speed would be optimal but...

14 bolt 10.5 full float on 1/2 ton

I’m taking automotive courses to use up my GI bill. The extra funds I get from that go towards my build. I went with off-road design suspension and there crossover steering to put some perspective on cost.

14 bolt 10.5 full float on 1/2 ton

I get where you’re coming from. The overdrive would be nice but it’s a toy that won’t see the interstate. I’m retired and have nothing better to do so it’ll get done. Me saying budget doesn’t mean cheap, I’m just trying to stay under $25k all in and I’m doing all the work myself.

14 bolt 10.5 full float on 1/2 ton

I’ll switch over to a 4l80 E eventually. I already had the 400. I’m doing frame off so the budget is a little tight right now. I’m building the 400 in class.

14 bolt 10.5 full float on 1/2 ton

Thanks for the feedback. This is my first build so I’m still learning. I wanted the 14 bolt so I don’t have to worry about going through rear ends. I’ll be putting in a 6.0 LS with a th400 behind and with 37” tires.

14 bolt 10.5 full float on 1/2 ton

Thanks, that’s what I was afraid of. Welder it is. I can’t think of the name of the part on the e brake you are referring to, but I read a post that said there was a TSB advising that the valve should be bypass that came on the 1 ton.

14 bolt 10.5 full float on 1/2 ton

I’m supposed to be picking up a 14 bolt full float rear end tomorrow for my 87 k15 longbed. Will any modifications need to be made to mount it or will it bolt right up? I did a search on here but didn’t see any threads for my specific application.

    K10/20 frame question

Thanks, doesn’t sound like it’s to different. My springs are 52” and I would assume the 78 does as well. I have a flare tool.

    K10/20 frame question

Springs, crossover steering, came with new brake lines. If you’ve seen the Stunt Double episode of Stacy David’s Gearz it’s that kit.

    K10/20 frame question

Off-road designs 6” suspension and steering. Not cheap.

    K10/20 frame question

I bought a nice suspension kit with new springs for my 87 LB V15 (uninstalled) but have my eye on a 78 LB k10. Are suspension mounting points the same? I’d like to use the suspension from the 78 on the 87 and put the nice one on the 78. I’d be selling the 87

    New to the group

There’s a slight twist in front on the driver side, a kink with crack on the front passenger side , bent front crossmember, a superficial bend at the end of the passenger side. Only 1 out of three places here was willing to work on the frame and they want $800. The rest of the truck is solid. I...

    New to the group

Hey guys I bought an 87 V15 long bed back in July. I’m retired so I needed something to keep me busy. Unfortunately I found that the frame is bent in a few places so I’ve been searching the net for a replacement frame near coastal Georgia. If any knows where I can find a replacement I would be...
