I bought a nice suspension kit with new springs for my 87 LB V15 (uninstalled) but have my eye on a 78 LB k10. Are suspension mounting points the same? I’d like to use the suspension from the 78 on the 87 and put the nice one on the 78. I’d be selling the 87

For the most part, it's the same. Both trucks probably have 52" rear springs.

What kit did you buy?

Off-road designs 6” suspension and steering. Not cheap.

Rear springs or shackle flip? Crossover steering or raised/lowered arms?

If you got front brake hoses, you will also have to swap calipers to use them.

Springs, crossover steering, came with new brake lines. If you’ve seen the Stunt Double episode of Stacy David’s Gearz it’s that kit.

'78 will more than likely have 7/16" banjo bolts, '87 will have 10mm. '78 steering box will have SAE type flare fittings, '87 will have metric o-ring type. Then there's the possibility of either truck having 52" or 56" rear springs, but both are likely 52".

Thanks, doesn’t sound like it’s to different. My springs are 52” and I would assume the 78 does as well. I have a flare tool.
