Hey everyone, I’m having issues with my fuel pump. 2nd pump installed and nothing happened! Ran lines to a can of gas and nothing. Rod from pump to cam looks good measured it and it’s exact length matched the specifications! I’m thinking I’ve got a bad cam lobe that’s worn out, only 126k on this original motor! I’m lost on this, any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated thanks in advance!

With the pump removed, hold the pushrod up to the cam with a popsicle stick or similar (NOT your finger) while a helper cranks the motor over a few revolutions. If it doesn't move in and out, there's your problem.

Also, my buddy replaced his 454 pump last year. The first couple didn't work. When he sent me pictures of the pump he had just installed, it looked like a small block pump. He got a pump from another store and it looked like the appropriate big block pump.

I’m gonna try that, I bought 1 from orielly then 1 from Napa and still nothing all 3 meaning my original and 2 new look the same. I’m not sure what to look for when seeing the difference between sbc and bbc pumps

The length of the lever is different between the two. If they look the same, you should be good.

Also make sure that your feed line from the tank is clear / free flowing.

A little back story would help here too. Was it running fine one day, then the next day it wasn't?

Yeah, I just didn't want to be the cause of someone losing a finger tip. Don't think I could live that one down, lol.

Ricko1966 , back story is it broke down in Feb lost all power and backfired. No spark , I replaced cap rotor and ignition module and got spark. Fired up and ran fine. Drove 4 miles I lost power and same happened but still have spark. I removed the fuel line to see if I wasn’t getting fuel! Sure enough no fuel! I replaced the pump and nothing! I’m on my second one now!
