Thinking about a new smaller steering wheel, comfort grip or forever sharp?

i also installed a forever sharp 14" wheel in my '86 C10. it is a little small, but it it doesn't really change my natural driving hand location(s). I don't really feel the difference. it does make the "belly/leg" area seem more roomy... The wheel is a nice piece, but to be honest the factory vinyl half wrap is starting to "stretch" from the wheel. not sure if it a quality issue or just that the truck is in the AZ heat some & is exposed to hi temps. I am not too concerned about it as i am planning to redo the vinyl with a more quality leather anyways.

I’m thinking about a new steering wheel for the suburban. Do any of you prefer the comfort grip over forever sharp wheels or vice versa? I like that the sharp wheel is 14” but is the comfort grip better quality?

I have the top one ( black w/mahogany)and like it a lot. Gives a bit more room for us taller folks.

I'm eventually going to take my extra wheel and cut it from the spokes/center then put it in a roller and shrink it 2" and have it recovered. I haven't found an aftermarket I like enough to swap.

Same here, Actually mine is out of my 1978 Camaro. I bought it when I was 16 for $400 back in 1994. I junked that POS a year later...

So many Camaros died like that. Even a dented roller is more that 1k nowadays.

I'm now going to leather wrap it since it keeps getting sticky.

Saw a tip somewhere else that said to use the "tub'o'towels" (I think that's what they are called) to clean up the old steering wheel... something about the cleaner in them breaking down the sticky stuff and getting it removed which most other cleaners won't do.

I love the look of the Forever Sharps but I sat in my buddy's '86 that has one and a 14" wheel is wayyyyy too small IMHO. Felt very strange to me. I ended up with a 15" comfort grip, it's perfect IMO. Retains the classic look, it's very comfortable and is the perfect size

Well, we’re all shrinking lol.

I do like the deep offset of that look. My dads ‘68 vette had a three spoke steering wheel from the factory like that. It was so cool looking through that to those huge gauges.

My dad's 6', my mom's 5' 2" so I landed right in the middle lol

Yeah it's about perfect for the gauges. I usually set the tilt a tad lower than most, so my voltage gauge and the very top of the tach/speedo are slightly blocked by the wheel but just one click up you can see everything. Where I set the tilt depends on the day as well lol. You would think the dish would bring it closer, but it really didn't. It's pretty much in the exact same spot as the OE one, as far as how close to your belly

I currently have a Grant GT due to the seats being higher than the bench its a 13.5" I want to swap to something nicer and billet eventually. I'm 5"9" 200lbs and with the TMI seats the stock size wheel was too close for my comfort.
