I put new signal/parking light housings on it, and added some factory style wheel arch moldings from LMC. I think they give it a more "finished" look....

Finally felt like getting out and tinkering with my hunk of junk today. Didn't accomplish much but did get the new to me shift indicator needle, courtesy of @bucket installed and got the qauge cluster back in. Going to get it inspected Monday and pay the state their unfair share so I can run amuck and tear the roads up for another year!! LOL:happy160:

My dear friend, it is called OCVSD....obsessive compulsive vintage snowmobile disorder.

It all started as a kid, riding with dad on his 71 Polaris, at 8 he bought me one just like his for $50.

I have his, my grandmother's (his mom), mine my dad got me and a SnoJet like my mom drove when I was younger.

I only have 8 now. That ain't ****, I used to have 22 of them.:D A friend sold his collection years back (yeah, I bought some) and he had 650 of them (yes, 650, not a typo).

Some I used to own were factory race sleds (all Polaris) from single cylinders to the monster 800 triple from 1968 to 1972.

Some have the same obsessive compulsive disorder with square bodies, it can't be helped.

Had a dilemma today, washed the '80 and the piece of trim on the hood, top most edge along the cowl, has been fading and cracking and peeling and it's really just been an eye sore on the truck. My brother has been hounding me to take it off but i've refrained because i don't know what's underneath. So i finally caved and pulled it off today, only of course for my nightmares to come true. Minor paint came off and the adhesive for the trim stuck in a few spots. OH and when i say adhesive, i mean SUPER GLUE! Someone had a great idea "Well ****, let's put this on with super glue on a brand new paint job!" So i showed my body guy the damage and he flat out told me i'm boned. Now repainting the hood wouldn't match the fenders he said, my paint would be 99% impossible to match. Said i could repaint all the blue on the truck to match but i ain't doin that. Also suggested i just get a new trim piece, which i would've done in the first place if i could find them for 70s style Square hood! I CAN'T!

So any tips on how to safely get the glue off (I WILL NOT USE ERASER WHEEL) or if anyone could please track down the rare trim piece, please let me know (or have one and willing to sell)

IN OTHER NEWS, after i about **** myself with the '80, i moved on to the '88 and i got the passenger side hub assembly put back together, the driver's side yesterday. Got my doors and tailgate back from the blast shop on Monday, he didn't warp them but the part of the door and tailgate was bondo'd pretty hard. A few minor dents here and there but overall solid for being original doors. Hope to sand them down and spray them in epoxy later on. Got the rear bumper brackets ordered and painted up. Previous owner had an aftermarket bumper on that i have since removed and will be getting an original. Problem is he removed all the brackets. I was able to buy the outers but i need the inners, they bolt onto the end of the frame i believe. Anyone know where i can get them? And does anyone know where i can get the 4x4 stickers for the end of my hubs? Thanks
