Need 2 Chevrolet Heads 14079261

Both my 1986 C20 Heads are cracked in the middle cylinder area. Machine shop says it was probably a casting flaw to have the same crack in the same area.

So, anyone who has a known good pair, please PM or DM me. Will travel to pick them up, or will pay to have them shipped.

With all due respect Sir, i'd like to point out what a golden opportunity you have laid before you.
I cannot in any stretch of the imagination support or recommend replacing broken 926 heads with other 926 heads.

Dude you could put a MUCH BETTER flowing cylinder head in it's place without spending a gang of money - if you do it right...certainly more time than money.

Too bad your '86 is perimeter heads or is it? If you could get your hands on a centerbolt intake manifold - all I want are #083s now.

Don't bother putting stock rebuilt stuff back on man...you'll at least want to run a different head gasket Sir. AAND different heads lmao. AND! there is no reason not to have the deck surface milled a little to clean it up real good with a new 3 angle and some new valves. They're cheap. I always run ELGIN "pro stock?" valves because i've never found a reason not to. Ask old boy about a "fluff and buff" in the new heads to kill the casting flash - that don't cost much ether and boy is it worthwhile!


There's a whole herd of maintainence-free horsepower right there if you play the cards right.

Don't get me wrong. You're not gonna end up spending a million bucks or end up with a hotrod race truck but but you could end up with a much better running engine and increased gas mileage.

But for the fully assembled price tag of $477 each, they are very attractive.

If I end up putting a small block into my '54 Bel Air instead of the big block, these will be the heads I use.
Not huge, but not stock small either.

I have a set of World Products S/R heads out in the garage and around here it would be about $600 to have the pair professionally rebuilt.
The S/R heads are good and compare pretty much to a fabled Camel Hump set of heads.
They have shown to respond well to porting, but without it they are pedestrian at best.

For the extra $400 I would have brand new aluminum heads that have good ports cast from the factory that walk all over the S/R heads.

Wow, that's cheap for AFR. I'm sure there's a lot of cuts to get the price so low, but they must still be pretty good if they put their name on them.

I have a set of those out in the garage as well.

Now that I think of it, I have 6 or 7 complete sets of Chevy heads out in the garage.
Just 4 sets of VW heads, but one of those sets cost the same as a pair of the AFR heads above.
Crazy as there are just half the cylinders...
