Still have not driven it, been doing brake work on it... but I did add some air shocks to the rear to level her out. The back end was lower than the front until now. It sits at about 33” on all 4 corners (from the ground to the peak of the fender lip)

Moog 6454, this is where I got mine.

they have settled a little as expected. I gained about 1.25”. Then again, I think I had solid springs in mine, others might have a variance on how good or bad their springs are. Part of me wonders what motorhome springs would have done... I am happy with the little lift it has, but a little more would be nice too for my preference.

I did go ahead and try the Airlift in mine and didn’t notice a major difference, but I think that’s because the new springs are NEW and I don’t have a big block compressing the springs. I did gain ‘some’ height with the Airlift1000 kit inside of the brand new coil springs 1/2” or so. The fender lips sit about 33.25” off the ground. My tires measure 27.5” tall with a straight level and a tape measure. I am fixing to put 31’s on so the fender lip should be 35” off the ground after the new tires.

AFTER the Airlift1000 and springs fully settled: Net lift with 6454 coils AND the Airlift1000 was right at bout 2”, maybe a hair less, compared to MY old springs.

She definitely sits like a 3/4 ton, I love it. I wouldn’t be opposed to a smidge more lift, but I’m a happy camper all around.

Had a day off today so I decided to finally install the rear lift blocks. I did not want the rear ride solely dependent on air shocks. Even with air shocks pumped up, the rear was still lower. I opted for 2” rear lift blocks. 2” gives the back end a rake, but to me, that’s ideal. If I plan on loading it down, I don’t want the back end sagging down.

(Do Half ton’s come with 8 springs???)

Now she’s not levitated solely by air. The air shocks will assist when it’s loaded down.

@78C10BigTen When you do your front springs, you may have to do something in the back To bring it up. My truck had the old hot rod gasser look lol.

Oh that would be awesome if you didn’t have to do anything to the back.

So were the 8 leafs a big 10 deal?

Looks like I have a Heavy Half (GMC version of the Big 10). Read something about the 4th and 5th digit being a 4 on the VIN, making it a Heavy Half/Big 10. Mine is TCL449.....
