Heavier Duty Coils on 2wd. Any issues?

Many years ago, I had MOOG #6452 springs installed, Monroe Magnums, went with Urethane bushings in the front end rebuild, Eaton Detroit TruTrac with 3:73's in the rear axle installed by Robert Thomas in Hesperia CA, a set of Firestone Destination AT 225/70/15 to roll on.
With the new springs, it sat up an inch or so, felt super nimble and accurate, handled Very well, and rode super smooth with the set up.

I had wanted to try the 235/75/15 next time around with the new gearing, 30" tire or less for handling/mpg/parts longevity.
People would say get big/bigger tires, I say if you pay for the gas and repairs, (I am as cool as I am gonna' get) lol.
MPG's went from 14+ to 18+, found out during break-in of the new rear gears, old were 2:72.
The 700r4 was rebuilt heavy duty, too bad the college screwed up on the 5.0 lol.
Had to sell the truck due to disability requirements...oh well.

So, if you want it to roll easy, that was my design back then on the 84' C10 step side.

If you want it to look cool and don't care about handling and mpg's, dream big, spend the dollar and go build exactly what you want, we only get one trip on the ticket, no U-Haul behind the hearse, no refunds or returns.

Mine is a factory big block with AC truck.
On stock worn out stuff it would mostly clear the 285/75/16's we tried on it.
It would rub the fender trim while turning pretty good.
With minor trimming it would have been fine.

If you are going that route you should be close to in the clear as those tires are around 32 inches seen below...

While we are talking about suspension, are there any suggested front end kits for suspension components?

When steering, I have been getting a click/clunk in either direction at low speeds. I could feel the noise in the tie rod I thought when I had someone steering the wheel, but it was hard to tell.

Is there a decent, barebones kit that you guys would recommend? Might as well address the click while I’m messing with the front end.

Moog 6454 springs that I put coil boosters in that I have had sitting around for years. I am not sure if these will cause any problems or not. Like I said, I have not driven the vehicle yet, so I don’t know what the steering is like.

Will let you guys know how it goes, I definitely boosted the front end a bit. The back end is actually lower than the front now.

Before and after with respect to my specific spring settle, it raised the front end about 1.5”.

Spring rubbers work well. In nascar terms, you just added a round of wedge.

I saw this at work today, no lie! Thought it would be good here. Soft springs so they tried to shorten the travel??? :shrug:

Still have not driven it, been doing brake work on it... but I did add some air shocks to the rear to level her out. The back end was lower than the front until now. It sits at about 33” on all 4 corners (from the ground to the peak of the fender lip)

I love these springs. They are rigid, but I am a total fan.

They did settle some, I am considering like 1” or so lift spindles. Would like to run 32’s and don’t want to run into any issues. This is how it sits now.
