hey So I have a 78 ls1 shortbox square with the drivers side door being a 180 degree suicide door to allow me to get my electric wheelchair up beside the seat, but there’s still much much of a gap for me to slide across my transfer board to the bench seat. I was contemplating cutting the floor and flipping the seat pan to allow for some extra height ( I’ve already removed my saddle tanks so they’re not an issue) now here’s where I can’t figure out what to do, The truck is lowered and I’m a giant (7’1” para) so it’s a big drop from my seat to the current seat hence why I thought a 6 way power seat could move sideways up/down to bring my truck seat up to my chair height without the big drop. Anyone take a stab at this and help me figure out how I can get in my truck without having to resort going to a stock height or airbags ? Thanks

@Old77 modified his floorpan to remove the hump, it's in his build thread. Going that route, you could basically pick the seat style you like that offers the most range in travel, then mock it up at different heights to find where is going to be best for entry/exit. Once that is figured out, mounts can be fabricated to mount the seat where it needs to be.

I also have a write up linked in my signature below this post specifically for how I went through the process. A lot of work but in the end worth it if going this route.

crap.....why did you remind me of this. :33: I haven't even thought about it. I've already relocated the tank to the back.

The seat in a 2001 suburban that I just picked up moves almost 3-4" in height.
