Speedmaster is a company name

I own a JEGS Street Spark distributor that is in my hot rod.

I own a Skip White unit that has become very popular with users within this MSB.
Matter of fact I have purchased THREE of them. Because they suck, they're ugly, and a crappy deal. AND Skip White customer service blows chunks...so I keep giving them money.

But hey, dowutchlike.

The Jegs units have 42KV coils vs 65KV I have seen on others.
How important is that??

Can vouch for the Skip White as well. Didn't have any issues with it.

I had an Accel dizzy once and it was fine. I've just had trouble with the Accel tan caps, they don't last very long.

I don't know how "important" that number is. Certainly adequate for my SS.
The part is going on...sixteen years old and only sees severe service.
I bought the Skip White's within the last 1.5 years and ran one of them through the wringer pretty damned hard and was so impressed that it never blinked PLUS it is ******* AWESOME LOOKING, (plus cheep!) I bought two more that have barely seen any use at all.

Hope this helps!

Dude, in a street driven daily driver truck it's a non-issue. Much unlike a race-only application where you're trying to go as fast as you can - all the time.

The stock AC Delco D504A coils were 50KV or 55KV. You don't need more than that on these engines. There's not enough compression to cause issues.

The aftermarket "hot" coils don't last long and they can screw up the module when they die. If you have a dead module in the ESC distributor and you want to rebuild it the seven terminal ignition module is ACDelco 19179581.

After reading that I needed to use a Melanized gear distributor with my LT4 Hot Roller Cam, I opted for the MSD Streetfire. I bought a factory refurb off old ol' ebay for under a C-note. The Skip White would have cost me that much by the time I swapped out the gear.
I did see a Streetfire on ebay NEW in the $50 range, but had shipping charges of $202.00 !!!

Yep. Those are 'Sleeze-bayers'. Buyer beware.

Glad you got a good buy at a price you liked. Hope it works well. (No sarcasm).

I'm running a DUI distributor. You can send them your engine specs and they will tune it to fit your engine and components. The are a bit pricy but it's a hei so you just drop it in and connect it.
I'm happy with it, it's way better than the old distributor I had.
