My 76 GMC's mechanical fuel pump has 3 lines attached to it.. i have an edlelbrock mechanical fuel pump i want to install but it only has 2 connections? Do I just delete one of the lines and cap it? Or will the edlelbrock just not work period? Thanks for the info..

The extra is the return line. You can cap off the line and the port on the pump, but if it were me, mechanical pumps are so cheap that I’d just get the three port unit.

Third line i believe is return. At least it acts as such on my 85. Should be able to cap it

Actually overpressure is a good point. Apperently most recent aftermarket fuel pumps appear to put out over 10psi. Not sure on edelbrock pump exactly but I ran them on two vehicles with no issues at the time

If you run a 2 port pump, you could run this fuel filter. It has a return. Wix #33041.

Just what make and kind of carb(s) do you have?

Quick 'throw yer head into the windshield' stops could be one of 2 tings.

Desperate stops can contribute to emptying the fuel bowl which would: starve the engine or, flood the engine.
