After a little more research. That blaster he is using is the Advanced Dry Lube, not the Graphite Dry Lube. The Advanced dry lube uses Teflon, not graphite. Teflon is a brand name, the chemical name for Teflon is (Polytetrafluoroethylene). The WD-40 dry lube has PTFE which might be easier to find depending on where you shop. WD-40 even makes a special window track formulation spray

WD-40.

I've been using that stuff on my GMT800 windows for several years.
Before using it, I thought my motors were worn out.

Cleaning things up for manifold install once it’s back. Chased all the bolt holes, cleaned and vacuumed, then masked areas off for paint. Topside creeper was a big help, plus you get a great abdominal workout! :D

In fiddling about with some underdash wire organizing this morning, I decided to find the OEM transmission shift knob in my stash and see if I would like it better than the older style knob that I had installed back in 2021.

So I installed the OEM unit and went out for a long drive on paved and unpaved roads. I learned to drive in a early 50's GMC pickup with a four speed and had virtually the same knob as my Dad's 65 C20, my 51 Willys, 79 CJ-5, and 65 C10 Suburban. I must have a deep, nostalgic, spiritual/physical connection with the older style knobs. So I did the experiment. The OEM knob makes the shifter just about an inch and a half longer and just doesn't 'feel' right. Decided to go back to the old school knob in the morning when it isn't 103°F out in the workspace.

So from this:

Perhaps I will hunt up one of those billet aluminum powder coated replicas of the old style knob. Maybe not...

I changed the rag joint on my 350k mile C10 today. A simple, but big change feeling wise. The old girl was wandering a bit. Now it's way tighter and no more wandering. Feels like a different pickup.

Taking the path of least resistance so I did a little surgery to the existing turn signal housings to rough one in. Gonna need to add some material around the edges to anchor it, probably epoxy or bondo. What color should I paint the edges? Black, silver, chrome or white?

Color is a tough choice, I would use AI to get a better visualization of the final assembly.

I’ve done lots of stuff the last few weeks. Installed the rear disc kit, made all new brake lines, got the brakes and clutch bled up, put the body back on and lined up, fenders cut up for the bigger SloshTubz, new AMD core support installed, SloshTubz mounted for the last time, intake put on and started on the wiring

What’s up everyone. Been a minute, BUT I am about to drop the th350 out and get the 700r4 stabbed in. Just need to unbolt the cross member and get the jack in place.

I ended up buying a 2qt larger pan for it, and a temp sensor that replaces the clock and looks like the oem gauges. I was originally planning to remove the fuel gauge and put a tack there and small fuel gauge. But I wanted a trans temp gauge. I also have a derale trans cooler on the way. Trying to do all I can to make this transmission last!

temp gauge is a auto meter 8349 gm factory match gauge, also have a auto meter 2892 z series pedestal tach on the way. Not sure where I’m gonna mount it yet. But will figure that out when it gets here.

Sprayed the headliner with textile coating to get a closer match to the two tone seat covers. Also gonna use the same material on the door panel inserts. The water based paint is kinda thick even after reducing 25%, expensive too. Gonna leave it in the hot sun to lock it into the vinyl surface. I had two mix brown and orange to get burnt orange.
