Looks like alot of fun.
Iim intending on installing a post blower intake air temperature sensor so I can monitor temps after theyve been "cooled' so in the event something crazy like that happened I could pull all the timing out of it

That ain't "cutting" Vince. That's "trimming". Lol

Time for a ramble nobody asked for.

Last night I got the tune file built! Flex fuel, the boost bypass solenoid, and 2 step.

I used to do this for a side living, so its easy peezy. I got fueling and spark tables and multipliers all setup. For now it'll have real dirty and gassy targets in boost until I start tuning it.

The boost bypass solenoid I dont exactly know where to start with because its all depending on cam profile, blower setup, temprature outside, gear im in, etc
so I programmed a -PMW function with a simple 3x table so that 100% duty cycle = full supercharger bypass (vent valve open so theres no parasitic loss)

The harder you press the gas, or the faster the motor is, the less its in bypass i guess. We will see.

The bbv is like the key to drivability so im going to be spending alot of time tweaking that. If it stays closed, it boost all the time and gas is just wasting and the cylinders and rings are taking a pounding constantly

I have safeties in place for in the event manifold air temp gets too high, (like an intercooler pump dying) it'll save it. Oil pressure is lost, motor overheats, or if it goes crazy and goes over 6500 rpm or somehow over 18psi

Theres alot of safety nets in there, so im hoping now im ready.

This morning I learned unfortunately the PCM thats in my 99 was the dreaded "black box'' ... non segment swappable unfortunately, so I cant use that to control my 4L80e i dont think.

However I have the pcm and harness from the 2004 driveline i bought, so it looks like i'll be integrating that to control my transmission shifting.

I hardly understand anything you are talking about here Vince...............this all passed me by............BUT I'm a BELIEVER ;)

Come on now!

The bbv is just basically a controlled vacuum leak in the blower. When youre sitting at the light idling you want full bypass so you arent pressurizing the motor necessarily.

And flex fuel, you know about e85!

2 step is just so I can launch it like an arsehole and burnout

Doesn't Holley have stack on modules for TCM in the terminator line up?

The pins from a 99 Black box will slide right into the Red/Blue or Green/Blue connectors. No need to use the other harness. Just repin to the Green/Blue that would have been on the 04 harness and plug in the P59 PCM. If you have HP Tuners you would need to buy the 2 credits to license the PCM, but if you have the ELM compatible tool you can just push an 04 file with any LS/4L80 baseline and then make yourself new shift tables with BlueCat. You only need crank signal(so that you have RPM) and TPS to drive proper shifting in the 4L80 but you'll have to splice into the terminator harness to get it.

It's not a stack on, its a different PCM. You need a Terminator X MAX, not just a regular Terminator X.

They DO make an add-on for the 6L80, but you still need to have the MAX version for it to work.

Ditto! Way over my head.

How about this ^Perry @idahovette
I'm too dumb to understand most of that as well.

Yea thanks, im aware of all that; and I would, but the modules at the trucks fuse block interchange seamlessly. The whole p59 harness from the 2004 just fits right into the electrical center of my 99 nicely. Both the main 100 pin bulkhead and the two 8-12 pin connectors.

The fuel and oil pressure just have to be swapped.

This way I dont have to ALSO repin my transmission plug, or add the one sensor that the 99 harness doesnt have for the side of the 80e

Last night I pulled the motor back out. I had noticed the other day I forgot to put the oil pan back on securely since the day we popped it to inspect the oil and rods, so I had to tighten that back up.

Went ahead and cleaned the break in goop, the pan, the surfaces, and the gasket.

I forgot my blower's water intercooler lid had these washers in it that go on both sides of the 4 intercooler cores...
which i found on my bench the other day after putting it together.

Do I had to take it apart again and put those back.

I needed to motor back out anyways because I needed to assess my vacuum ports yet again because theyre back there out of reach or sight.... only to discover the MAP sensor didnt have a home... and never did. Just loosely stuck on the back.

So for anyone who doesnt know what an STS-V is (thanks again blueex)
Its a rwd 4.4 s/c cadillac nurf-stur
Crayon eat'n motor.

The throttle body faces the firewall on those cars, so the map sensor is weirdly placed like right there.

This m122 im running has the TB deleted and is running like a big 4" inlet on the back, which i connect that "J" elbow and the 103mm throttle body to.

I had to drill and tap into the blower body last night to solid mount my MAP and the extension they bought (neither of which were intended to fit the blower or Gen 3 motor)
