Cucv grille guard bumper

Does anyone know which year bumper the cucv grille guard will direct bolt up too?

I installed one I found at a Beatty NV surplus place in 2007 and it bolted right on to my 85 K20 Suburban. I was hoping to find a CUCV front bumper/grille guard and a CUCV rear bumper but could only snag the guard. Had I known about a place in Barstow at the time which had that stuff, I would have been successful.

I would think that any 81-87 front bumper would work...

Hickey Enterprises was one of the manufacturers that made the grille guard for the 1970's bumper.

No one I know of is making them now. Word search with "Hickey" may find you a used one.

As far as I know, the Gov'ment did not buy GM, CUCV's in the 1970's. The '81 and up CUCV front bumper is like the '80's bumper, but not the exact same.

Iirc, no matter the year on the CUCV (ie 84, 85, 86) it’s based on an 84.

$650 with shipping. I think I paid $125-ish back in the days of cheap surplus.

Far as I know, the only difference is the openings for the blackout lights and the shackle mounts.
