I thought I’d seen this discuss before but I can’t find any threads.

I’d like a shorter accelerator cable, my current (‘91 Blazer) cable (per Rockauto) is 29.25” long and forces me to twist a loop into it to fit my carb.

I see a ‘78 K10 cable should be 25.5” long and a ‘74 K10 cable should be 24.25” long. Has anyone made this swap? I’m curious if there are any issues with the cable connecting to the pedal assembly.

I'd bet they are the same. The pedal floor mounts are the same, even 67-72 has the same floor mount pattern but with a mechanical linkage.

I'd have to check to be sure though.

What bracket are you using? I am using a 2 barrel bracket on my 4 barrel and it does this same thing

Currently I’m using a qjet with the factory bracket (original 454 stuff) but I’ll be changing the carb and using an aftermarket adjustable bracket soon.

I found that my 91 cable is 29.25” w/ eyelet at the carb, a 78 is 25.25” w/ eyelet and a 75 is 24.25” w/ ball & socket. (Blazer applications)

That said, I’m going to try one from a K10 w/ 6.2 diesel that’s about 21” long. I’ll report back on the fit.
